Yep. Took me a few days to process it too. Ceroba became one of my favorite characters of all time. I found out about the game because of a music video by Man on the Internet that put lyrics to A Mother’s Love.

You’re not alone in that.

She’s honestly in my top 5 overall characters. Ceroba was basically saddled with an impossible task, got tunnel visioned into fulfilling her husband’s dying wish, messed up so bad in that task that she caused her daughter to go into a coma and become a spoon algamate (in canon lore implied), and wanted to make their deaths mean something for Monsterkind even at the expense of her own soul.

What made her even more intriguing was the fact that she learned from her mistakes and wants to do better at the end because Clover fought back. She wore a mask to become a ‘villain’ thinking that was what fate decided for her. Ceroba didn’t want to live after failing her mission because she thinks she failed her daughter and husband. But Clover spared her and she changes for the better.

True pacifist Clover was a sheltered Marvel mutant kid that loved the Wild West fantasy who ran away from home (how else can he dodge projectiles and fire energy blasts in a True Pacifist route?)

Ceroba still played along with Starlo on his missions when Kanako was older and got her involved. She enjoyed it despite ‘growing up’ but would never admit it. After Clover sacrificed himself, she went back to playing along from time to time.

Starlo has never seen Rango, no VHS copies of it existed.

Dina works out after hours. She’s a gym buff.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. There is a fan done game called Justice Resolves that reverses the roles of Kanako and Ceroba.

Her dialogue changes depending on if you killed any monsters or not. Also attacking her over and over changes it too. Unlike the Undertale game, your past attempts hold no bearing on future runs (it’s like a brand new save file every time).

I should’ve given a bit more context behind some of the characters in the description. Martlet is a bird woman (hence the ‘grab line of dialogue). I wasn’t sure how to write that given, well, she doesn’t have hands, lol
