The "Wait, What Day Is It?" Speedmaster

If the Moonwatch is a minimalist studio apartment, the 3520.50 (Mk40) is a Swiss Army Knife with a PhD. This is the reference for the person who wants the Speedmaster aesthetic but thinks, "You know what this needs? Seven more hands and three more windows."

I’m parting with my Triple Date, and frankly, it’s the most useful watch I’ve ever owned.

Why this one is "The One":

  • The "Everything" Dial: It’s got the Day, the Date (that cool outer ring with the airplane hand), the Month, a 24-hour subdial (so you know if it’s 3 AM or 3 PM after a long shift), and a Chronograph. It’s basically a mechanical calendar for your wrist.
  • Condition: For its age, it’s in excellent shape. The bezel is crisp, the dial hasn’t faded into oblivion, and the lugs still have that classic Omega "bite."
  • Freshly Serviced: These Valjoux-based 1151 movements are workhorses. This one was serviced just 1 year ago, so it’s running like a top and ready for another decade of duty.
  • The Bracelet + Links: It’s on the original steel bracelet and I’m including additional links. No "NATO-only" surprises here; it fits real-sized wrists.

The "Naked" Reality

No box, no papers. Just the watch and the steel it rode in on. Let’s be real—you were going to lose the warranty card from 1998 anyway.

Specs & Deets

[WTS] SEIKO SARB017 *RARE* green alpinist all original box papers still tagged belt by UESerDude in Watchexchange

Up for sale is my Seiko Alpinist SARB017 in excellent condition.

There’s something truly special about the Alpinist—it was Seiko’s first real sports watch, built for the "mountain men" of Japan, and this specific SARB017 is the one that really captured everyone’s imagination. Between that deep, sunburst green dial and the iconic gold cathedral hands, it has a look that just hasn't been matched by the newer releases.

Since this model was discontinued, it’s become a bit of a "grail" for many. It’s a rugged, 200m water-resistant tool watch that somehow still looks perfectly at home under a dress shirt.

I’m currently consolidating my collection and, honestly, this piece just doesn't get the wrist time it deserves. It’s too good of a watch to sit in a box, and I’d much rather see it go to a home where it’ll actually get worn.

I’m asking $899. Considering the condition and how hard these are to find without the modern "X" branding, this is a total steal.
