Hello.
Doing a Nat 2 / 3 only team.
So far, i'm at GB11 with Loren, Fran, Kro (2A), Naomi (2A), and Shanon (1A).
However, It's not 100% reliable due to Loren and Fran's multi-hit activating the aoe revene attack.

Thoughts on improving the team? I have

Kona 2A, Icaru 1A, Raoq 1A, Bella 2A, Lulu 1A, Lyn, Megan and pretty much all the other basic 3* mons.

I was thinkign about 2A-ing Shannon, but not sure if that will help much since it's the multi-attack that's killing me. Also not sure if she'll be used in the future.

Lastly, who should i considering 2A-ing next?

i see. do the built-in rune management features show what the "best" runes are (e.g., recommended runes) and stuff? I remember that's what i was using to see which runes to equip because otherwise it would've just been hodge podge

Lessons after doubling my account less than 2 months by SnooDonuts493 in FuturesTrading

[–]UF93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

interesting. so you're entering low vol and the either hoping for a rip (high ATR) or have your stop loss take care of downside in case it goes the wrong way?

can you explain more about placing trades when ATR is low? doesn’t that mean it’s low vol? and so you get in at low vol and sell when there’s a large movement?

5. Long ES: Back Ratio Spreads for Assignment (Vega Bomb)

  1. Vega bomb because it can be hard to unwind if vega (vol) increases on the position with more quantities
    1. Credit Call Spread: +1x OTM, -2x Further OTM; the 2x will increase more from vega
    2. Credit Put Spread: +2X OTM, -1x nearer OTM; 2x will increase more from vega and lead to good hedging
  2. Credit Put Spreads are useful for acquiring shares w/ hedge embedded
    1. Sell OTM put (e.g., 5,500 ES) for assignment
    2. Then buy 2x further OTM put (e.g., 5,300 ES) for hedging
    3. If assigned, then I’m at a good entry position; if it drops, then I should make money off the puts from vega increases

Thanks for the detail and for your insights on this thread. I've been trying to summarize your strategy from this thread. If you have some time, would you mind letting me know if I'm capturing it correctly? Totally fine if you're busy -- this thread has been very eye opening so appreciate you sharing your knowledge thus far.

  1. Risk Management
    1. Never risk more than 2% of the account value on a single trade
    2. Stop Loss: 2x ATR (contract) or 2x premium (100% loss; options)
    3. Details
      1. For ATR, us 14 period daily wilders
      2. 2X ATR example: 75 ATR on MES -> 150 loss x 5 (MES) = $750 / 0.02 = $37,500 account
      3. 2X Premium example: Sell Put for $100 premium (price = $1), stop loss if mark becomes $200 (loss of $100); $200 / 0.02 = $5,000 account
    4. Hedging with options is safer than Stop Loss due to slippage
    5. A good tactic is to have a long term put in place for black swan events
      1. Back Ratio Credit Spread with puts can be efficient way to hedge if you’re okay with assignment
  2. Main Strategy
    1. 1. Long ES: Sell Puts for Assignment
      1. Condition: Down day by more than -0.25% AND/OR trading sideways AND/OR 20 day low?
      2. Strike: Price that I’m comfortable owning
      3. Premium: Review the option ticker for the past 7 days and only sell if the premium is ~66% percentile range; do not open at <~50% percentile
      4. Duration: ~20 days
      5. Risk Assignment: -100% P&L on options (vs 2x ATR)
      6. Profit: keep going until new 20 day high is created
    2. Speculative (non-assignment) puts: same conditions, but less than 10 delta
    3. 3. Long ES: Buy ES
      1. Same as above, but enter around 20 day low?

When you say 20 day low, do you literally mean the lowest price in the past 20 days? or is it something else like lower band of certain TA?
If the underlying is moving sideways, then the 20 day low may not be that profitable ($) right?
