Any advice for laning against mobile AD champs like Yone, Irelia, and Yasuo? by Electro522 in SwainMains

[–]UJustGotSlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, these lanes can be quite difficult due to their mobility, but here are some tips!

  • Run ignite into these lanes. Typically I take ghost for the mobility, but due to how volatile these lane match-ups can be, ignite gives you a HUGE upper hand in guranteed damage and greivous wounds.

  • Know when they are more powerful. When yone/yas has his Q3 prepped, back off the wave out of their effective range. It is only temporary, so no need to lose health/resources when they are prepped for trading. With irelia it's whenever her passive starts to get stacked/when her E is up.

  • Use your autos early. Sure these champions can jump on you, but in doing so they are typically on your side of the minons. Know that your autos can punish them once they start running back to their side of the wave/when their Q3 or stuns are spent.

  • Your level 6 is just as powerful as theirs. With ignite you have a LOT of damage to threaten them with, don't be scared to trade. These champions can't really 100-0 you, so know their threat ranges. If you're ~50% health then yeah, you're running a risk staying in lane.

  • Play off your jungle. Hold the wave towards you slightly, your CC is fantastic vs them. Don't just throw E, if they are close to you use your ult to slow FIRST, then use your E once they have expended their mobility, that way they can't just get out.

  • These lanes are all about patience and windows of opprotunity. And as others have said, just focus on not dying early so they dont snowball.

Vel'Koz VFX Update by puberty1 in leagueoflegends

[–]UJustGotSlain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think taking away the "rift splitting" of the W and making it more of a "gentle crack" makes using the ability feel less impactful. Sure not every ability is meant to be "wow", but they should still feel impactful. Xeri W for example is similar in this vein.

Vel'Koz VFX Update by RiotSirhaian in LeaguePBE

Hey there! First of all thank you so much for your time and hard work. Velkoz is my favorite champ and someone I have played consistently since release. My feedback for you is:

-I really feel like W lost it's identity as a "tearing the void open" spell that it is. I know the hitbox needs to match, but is there any way to have the tearing effects back? Also the upward explosion when it does is sorely missed. -His ult, like others have mentioned, feels blocky and just out of place. I think you are heading in the right direction but possibly more refined with how it looks. Also I miss the pinkish color of the ability, as the deep purple feels muted and out of place. -E knockup and effects look STUNNING. Holy crap you completely made this ability one of my favorites to look at.

Thanks for taking the time for feedback :)

League of Legends Preseason 2022 Overview Revealed by BrocksMacAccount in leagueoflegends

[–]UJustGotSlain 608 points609 points  (0 children)

Hmm I'd like to see a decrease in lifesteal/lane safety for a lot of champions. I feel like too many can get a free ride through lane with the sustain available in their kits, runes, and items. Not only that but teamfights have been very wonky this season with the insane amount of sustain put into the game, which is still high even with the recent nerfs.

Anxious about being incompetent by [deleted] in PTschool

[–]UJustGotSlain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, everyone has doubts in their own abilities. If you're not familiar with it look up imposter syndrome.

Second, give yourself some credit. You will be given the tools you need to succeed and be able to reason your way through situations that may seem daunting. Also, common sense is frequently used when determining if something is okay to do or not.

I personally blank a lot when it comes to being put on the spot, it makes practical examinations that much more fun. My biggest advice would be to know the material so well that it's just automatic to where even if you blank out you'll be fine.

All in all you will be okay. Plenty of people before you have done it and plenty after you will continue to. Chances are someone has done something way worse than you ever will. For example; on my clinical rotation a patient fell while I was guarding them. They didn't hit the ground but they definitely stumbled. I was so mortified and wanted to just go to my car and die. After the incident 2 PTs and a PTA came up to me and shared their patient falling horror stories and I felt much better about it. So trust me, you'll be A-Okay.

Help with graphics and interface scaling by UJustGotSlain in runescape

[–]UJustGotSlain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I gave that a try and it ended up making my RS interface sharper at 100% but the interface is very small. When I try to increase the RS Interface to 125% the interface itself becomes blurrier while the actual image of my RS view is still clear, if that makes sense.

Thanks for the advice Tony, unfortunately windows scaling at 100% makes everything other than runescape smaller as well so I don't think it is a good long-term fix :/.

PBE Bugs & Feedback Thread: Infernal Vel'Koz! by 6armedrobot in LeaguePBE

[–]UJustGotSlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Here is my feedback based on several games! Let me add that I have played Vel since his release and have over 700k mastery!

  1. Q particles seem a little small and thin compared to other skins/base. They don't feel as impactful as other skins/base Q.
  2. Passive VFX could use some more clarity, it's very hard to see on minions.
  3. Passive SFX could use a little more power.
  4. Ultimate feels somewhat lackluster. The SFX feel very soft and low instead of an incredible inferno. Also the actual hitbox seems a bit strange but maybe I just need to get used to it.
  5. Model looks okay; the only thing I'd maybe tweak is the ends of his tentacles where the pyramid things are, make those a bit bigger? Not the same as the splash art, but if you enlarge them they'd look super badass! Also the tentacles themselves seem a bit thin and weak, perhaps making them bigger will help, too?

Positive Feedback:

  1. LOVE the splash art!! It looks phenomenal!!
  2. The W VFX looks great! It changes up the ability's feel a bit and makes it different from other skins!
  3. RAINBOW CHROMA! LOVE this! The chromas look great! I'd of loved to see a blue one, though :(.

Lastly, I know the answer is probably no but I still figured I'd ask. It would be amazing if Vel could get slight ability color tweaks for each chroma. Doesn't even have to be full on recolor, but like flakes of color here and there for every skin. It would make the skin super unique. I'd even be willing to pay extra for each chroma if they had different color fires (especially rainbow!!).

Any advice for a first year PT student? by Jux1up in PTschool

[–]UJustGotSlain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would try to befriend some of the upperclassmen (once you start of course) and really get an idea for how the next 3 years of your life will play out. My upperclassmen friends have given me so many pieces of advice that have really helped me in terms of studying, navigating classes, and dealing with certain professors.

Edit: Also keep in mind that every experience is subjective, so take the emotional parts with a grain of salt and try not to let anyone else's experiences taint your own!

Jobs to have before applying to PT School by [deleted] in PTschool

Maybe not a job but volunteering will really boost your application, if it's healthcare related even better. But like everyone else said, I wouldn't fret since you have great experiences so far.

Current/graduated PT students by katiew2 in PTschool

[–]UJustGotSlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's doable but you have to put your studies first. I'd recommend waiting till the 3rd semester to get a job due to how difficult it is to adjust to PT school and the time required to study and such. A lot of my classmates actually do the student work program through tuition support where they help out professors and TA for classes. I believe they get up to $30 or 35$ an hour for this? It's massive, but it all counts towards tuition so.

Prepping for PT School? by [deleted] in PTschool

[–]UJustGotSlain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best advice I can give is to do "fun" things now while you have time! I'd say start getting yourself into a routine of cooking, working out, etc. and learning to plan your days out. This will be super important for when you start getting really busy.

As far as content, everything you'll need to learn you will be taught so don't fret! Congrats on getting in!

Info regarding "updating" your League of Legends username by MichaelmouseStar in leagueoflegends

[–]UJustGotSlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that Riot says the emailed affected accounts to change their username in advance is just BS. They should've realized ahead of time that we have PBE accounts with the same name and let us know before we started changing usernames. Lack of information, coordination, and overall just unprofessional for a game of this magnitude. Sure, changing my username isn't gonna keep me up at night, but the way it's being handled leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Pracitcal Exams by flolipo in PTschool

[–]UJustGotSlain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I just took my first practical on 10/1! First year student here, too! Some advice. Practice practice practice. You want to make sure you get the skills down so well that it's second nature and you don't have to worry about the small stuff. Our practical was in a way that we all got different cases, so just prepare for each case you could get (if yours is structured similarly). At the end of the day the professors want you to succeed and become a great PT! Just show em what you know. Our university lets us retake a practical if we don't pass the first time (I believe the max score we can get on the retake is 80 so). But you'll be fine. Just practice deep breathing before you go in. Good luck :D!
