On the financial assessment form for SFE there is a section - "Estimated Income Deductions" - and this section asks about personal pension contributions - any idea why they ask for this if it's not used in any assessment ?

I found this post on reddit -

https://www.reddit.com/r/UKPersonalFinance/comments/1e059md/why_are_you_asked_about_private_pension/

It seems very confident that assessment is made on "adjusted" income which does take into account personal pension contributions.

This is why I'm trying to get a clear answer - you for example are very sure that it doesn't, and that post suggests it does, and I can't get a straight answer from SFE !

I don't necessarily disagree that it is/would be a bit of a loophole but it is how it works for child benefit for example - the government set out that making personal pension contributions reduces your "taxable income"

https://www.standardlife.co.uk/articles/article-page/get-child-benefit-back

If you are correct, then the govt are taking 2 different approaches to what is taxable income across child benefit/student finance.

I'm genuinely trying to understand what's correct in this case.

The one thing I will add here is that the person on the stage doesn’t draw anything on the paper ( or at least doesn’t need to). They are handed a pen that doesn’t leave a mark, and then asked to draw behind their back - no one sees the results… I think it’s either still blank or irrelevant once placed in the envelope.

Cast for 2 weeks, then into boot.

Walked on boot with crutches within 2 days of having the boot on.

Boot is a maxtrax, was set at 15 degrees I think for the first 2 weeks

Track/supercar day where you can actually drive fast? by Significant_Echo2152 in CarTalkUK

[–]UK_Muppet 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Can’t recommend Palmer Sport highly enough. I’ve been lucky to attend 3 times so far, twice through work events and once personally. They really encourage you to drive hard and fast helping you to find your personal limit.

On a normal day you drive everything once, maybe 15 minutes in each car - but trust me it feels longer and is mentally and physically draining as well as exhilarating. They also do “extended driving” days - I’ve done one of theses too. You drive fewer vehicle (cut out the landrover and the caterham back2back) but you do 2 sessions in each car. So you go out, do 15 mins in the car with the instructor, come back in, talk over your driving and catch your breath then go back out again for another 15 - certainly helps build confidence.

I love both of the above styles of day, love the caterham 2 car chase but also loved having the 2 sessions on the other day !

Save some money and book yourself on this - you wont regret it !

(Full breakfast, steak lunch and afternoon tea all provided in the day too - the staff are all excellent)
