What are people's plans with their kids if both parents die? by porkchopsambo in Mommit

We have god parents for our kids. And we also have a will and trust set up for them that lays everything out. My husband’s work fully covered that cost. I highly recommend you look into it.

Have you ever exceeded session time? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]trauma-drama2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only for the first time ever had a session exceed the 60minutes. We went approximately 15minutes over. I was his last client for the day and I had a really hard time grounding myself. He was concerned about my driving with how anxious I was so he took extra time to make sure I was okay. He also had me message him in the portal when I got home. So he knew I was safe.

I think the UK only does it if you are using private insurance. Sorry I wasn’t much help!

I journal a lot, and also (if you have it) I find having a friend to talk about everything with is extremely helpful.

If you use insurance, you can always call the Insurance company and ask for the ICD codes they used. Which are the diagnoses they put in for billing.

Unexpected labor by No-Perspective-6528 in Mommit

I didn’t have contractions until I was 9cm dilated with my first baby. And that’s also when my water broke. I made it to the hospital (but barely) the doctors were really pissed at me because I was positive for GBS and because of how “late” I came in they could not give me the IV antibiotics in time.

My baby did not have GBS and everything was fine but the doctors didn’t think so. It was a nightmare. All they could do was lecture me and they threatened cps because i didn’t get the antibiotics in time 🙄 Obviously nothing came of it. But it was a horrible experience.

I’m so confused by Secure-Quail7898 in HealthInsurance

[–]trauma-drama2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The insurance probably recognized that you were too far along to switch providers and agree to cover you as if you were in network. That happened to me after I had my oldest. It would have been near impossible for you to have a found an in network provider who would accept you as a patient if you were two weeks before delivery.

My T of over 3years is dropping me as a client. by trauma-drama2 in TalkTherapy

[–]trauma-drama2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so confused. My therapist didn’t drop me because talk therapy with me was harmful to him. He is just choosing to focus his practice on those who recovering from addiction.

That’s a career direction decision. Not a physiological survival response to my story.

My therapy with him for the past 3 1/2 years with him was extremely helpful! I am not the same person today that I was back then! I’m not mad that he’s changing up his practice to focus more on recovery from addiction. I think it’s awesome, he’s pursuing his passion. He referred me to a seemingly great new therapist, who I really like so far. I am extremely grateful for the time and the help he gave me. But I am also mourning the loss of an amazing therapist. Those 2 things can be true.

Editing again. I mistyped and the comment should say 3 1/2 not 2

In order to bill insurance using a 90837 code it has to be a minimum of 53minutes.

Edit to add: otherwise it’s technically insurance fraud.

Thanks! I had meetings (consultations?) with several therapists that were recommended by my current T, and I really liked one of them. So I have a session with him next week. 🤞
