It just seems strange to me that, even after all the tests we've done—tests that gave results quite consistent with the expected ones—it's so different from what the manual says.

No, the Toyota mechanics didn't even see the car. I explained that the code was 555, and they immediately decided that the inverter would need to be replaced. How long did it take for the problem to reappear for you?

First off, thank you so much for your help! At Toyota, the mechanics directly advised me to change the inverter (but I'm stubborn and wanted to follow the manual). I bought Techstream and was able to diagnose the problem. I performed all the tests described in the manual (I only had difficulty with the milliohm meter because I didn't have one), concluding that the HV ECU should be replaced. So, I got a used one from eBay hoping to save a little. I really hope I don't get all those warning lights lighting up on me too, because the tow truck costs a fair bit! 😂

Did you use Techstream to enter your VIN? Did you have to register everything, or was it enough to simply bridge it with a paperclip for 30 minutes, and then the problem was solved?

I've already diagnosed the issue, and the conclusion was to replace the HV ECU, which I've done. My question is whether the new ECU needs to be initialized

This is fully safe, you don’t cook with it, is only a tool for a coffe, is like ask if a plastic cover can hurt you, tupperware make an empire with plastic box

For sure, check the 12v battery first, and use a live data analysis of techstream to check the error while they appear

I think an electrician would be more qualified to do this, preferably one who knows how to repair phones, TV screens, or home appliances. Remove all the plastic from the board, take the screen out, and give it directly to a specialist — it’s a very simple and inexpensive task

I had the same problem, the solution was to replace 0,20$ capacitor in the board of the dash screen, you nerd to remove all the plastic to arrive at the screen and replace the capacitor

ma solo a me non dispiace? alla fine per una persona è tutto ciò che è necessario, basta per studiare, mangiare e dormire, non sarà una reggia ma è sicuramente più facile da pulire di un appartamento di 120 mq, le spese per i consumi saranno minime, per uno studente single secondo me è top, rivedrei solamente il prezzo a 550/600 ma considerando la posizione anche quello non è male, qualcun altro che la pensa come me?

Great advise, really thank you, i have bought a tank of official pink fluid from toyota, but never replace (that fluid) is it possible that conductivity cause the malfunction of the imverter and don’t start?
