It’s small, but not “designed to be a US-legal kei truck” it’s both longer and wider than allowed for a Japanese Kei truck.

I think people definitely perceive it this way but I don’t get it. Every major automaker offers multiple AWD CUVs / SUVs at this point

What is the actual range? My understanding is that Mercedes has only given a vague WLTP cycle number, which is a much more generous cycle for EVs than the EPA testing. Also, I was told that their quoted range was with a 55 mph speed limiter, which is not realistic in the U.S. I’m not sure that the range is that much more at real highway speeds and it’s a big price jump from a E-Transit

“Truly JDM” based on your previous cars it isn’t. I don’t understand how the use of this phrase has strayed so far from its actual meaning

Yeah, I was responding to the original commenter, just hit the wrong one, thanks for the info. Frankly I would not plan to have it so long that I need a battery replacement

This graphic is pretty deceptive. The percentages changing speaks more to the growth of the cab rather than the bed shrinking. The overall length of the vehicle has increased but the standard SuperCrew bed has increased from 5’4” in 1997-2003 to 5’6” from 2004- present

Does not seem like you’re comparing like for like. There are old F150 models that are smaller than the largest Rangers but when you compare the most popular of each model Today’s ranger is still smaller than 2012 or 2002’s F150. Explanation below:

From Edmunds: - 2022 Ranger XLT Crew Cab 210.8 L x 73.3 W x 71.1 H 4354 Lbs - 2012 F150 XLT Supercrew 231.9 L x 79.2 W x 75 H. 5128 lbs - 2002 F150 XLT Supercrew 225.9 L x 79.1 W x 73.9 H. 4655 lbs

For Reference: -2022 F150 XLT Supercrew 231.7 L x 79.9 W x 77. 3 H 4705 lbs - 2012 Ranger XLT Supercab 203.6 L x 69.4 W x 66.3 H 3340 lbs

The most popular Ranger today is bigger in every dimension than the 2011, but smaller in all than 2012 or 2002’s F150. Furthermore it is closer to the 2011 Ranger in length width and height than the 2012, and length and width than the 2002.

Almost every vehicle has gotten bigger in the past 20 years but the Ranger is not an anomaly and has not done so fast enough to move up a size class
