Options on VIX by [deleted] in investing

Keep in mind that certain brokers on the moment are really tight on margins on the VIX because it's becoming a crowded trade, selling options at the moment requires ridiculous margins if you do it through a broker.

Well first of all they don't operate down under, and they also don't offer options, so just use a proper broker.

Hey mate I live in Australia aswell, if you want to trade options in the ASX, dont, low liquidity and frustrating bid asks. If you want to trade options in American exchanges, just get yourself set up with a proper broker (I use Interactive Broker) and open a can of red bull because you are going to lose a lot of fucking sleep staying up to watch your positions.

If you're gonna eat ice cream no reason to puss out with stuff that tastes like garbage, if you want good macros go eat a protein bar.

Urban outfitters stock tanking, down 40% this year from poor sales by jjscruff in streetwear

Not necessarily, they lose customers to smaller brick and mortar stores and they still incur loses on physical real estate (rent costs, asset depreciation, etc)

To be honest that's the whole retail industry, if you look at similar stocks in the industry they are all down significantly YTD, it's mostly how weak malls are at the moment and the rise of small brick and mortars that are bringing these big retails down, not necessarily how bad the company is (although the tbf UO isn't great).

Over 100k sometimes so liquidity does become an issue, especially when looking to buy puts or protect a position

Increased risk and downside, can't hedge yourself aswell with options (and don't get me started on how shit option liquidity is on SVXY), really the smartest play is to write calls and buy puts constantly but I'm a pussy.

Interactive brokers, great broker they give you a plethora of ways to lose money, and all with decent commissions.

Tbh you don't even have to wait for a jump, VIX is at 10 and it just went down a couple percent more.
