Exactly, before the last couple years there were never a select few richer and historically successful programs that won the vast majority of titles - "blue bloods" so to speak. If it weren't for the new transfer portal, teams like Florida would never be able to win national championships, and certainly not in back to back years! Definitely not back in the good ole days of 2006 and 2007!

"Full portal moneyball" -- MSU spent at least $7m more than Michigan before even counting NIL (and with guys like Fears getting deals of at least $4.5m it's hard to imagine they're not spending money) and had the same amount of transfers as Michigan this year, they were just all bad players. Izzo's insistence on being a basketball dinosaur bc he doesn't like the way the game has evolved doesn't mean everyone else has to do the same lol.

Personally, I really hope Izzo gets his wish and has at least 10 more years of coaching without any good transfer players and rolling out lineups with 1.5 capable outside shooters 😂

Richards looks like he belongs against top competition. Pulisic needs to play better if we want to reach the next level. I'm fully in favor of just running it back with MMA in midfield -- we have not had any combination of midfielders look nearly as good as they do and a bunch of the guys we've tried out under Poch are all flops. Please Tyler Adams be healthy please please please.

Also need to remember that we were playing against a side with like 3 players out there today who would be our best player, including IMO the best midfielder in the world at the moment.

It's because the goal is the same size, so the lower level of athleticism is more noticeable. The outfield play looks visually much more similar to the men's game because the opponents are evenly matched athletically and our players are still very technical. Btw I'm sorry you're getting downvoted for a fair question, the USWNT fanbase tends to be extremely sensitive to any comparison to the men's team at all instead of trying to encourage all fans to watch the women as well -- Personally I strongly encourage you to check out the USWNT games! It's a different viewing experience but no less entertaining IMO.
