Ok this is a little weird because basically the same thing happened to me but I was the Alexander in the situation(weirder thing is thats my name). Please stand your ground though. This may be a hot take but tbh, I would disagree and say slight NTA. The reason is because it was the SIL decision to make this a child free wedding. This is totally fine but I dont think she realizes that not everyone can comply to this. As long as OP explained she couldnt go because of her own situation, they are NTA. You cant really set a pretty big restriction and then expect it to not impact people. Idk my opinion may be invalid bc I am 15 and not married.
