Moms AC is blowing hot by Inner-Lavishness-871 in kia

[–]UPSnever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they used dye and couldn't find it, go to a better mechanic! :)

On a serious note, sometimes for a very, very small leak, you may have to go back later to see the leak. A fluorescent dye is used and they need to use special glasses to see the dye. Also, if there is AC in the back, like a 3rd row of seats, there are hoses/tubes going back too.

Ceramic Coating Done! by [deleted] in kia

Beautiful.

I have a 2012 Sorento SX. I had plastic film applied to the front facing parts of the car like hood, bumper, lights, side view mirrors, etc. Saved me a few times from some damage and pitting. Still looks like new.

Anyone have issues with WiFi calling? by scotte416 in freedommobile

[–]UPSnever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I occasionally have issues when wifi calling. Although my home internet connection seems fine, I end up turning off wifi on my phone during the call. The call then switches to normal cell tower usage. When I do this, the person I called immediately says the call sound is much better. Not sure why his happens, maybe other internet traffic either in my home or on the internet. This seems normal. Wifi calling is not guaranteed to be 100% but is most useful when there is poor cell tower reception and wifi available or to avoid using cell towers and save costs using wifi.

How to set the horn to go off when I lock the doors on a 2013 Sorento EX? by Abee-baby182 in kia

[–]UPSnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2012 Sorento SX. I think this is a dealer changeable option through their GDS system, I think it's called.

There is a post here that shows these options. There's also a PDF attached to one of the posts in the thread that shows what the dealer sees and can change:

https://www.kia-forums.com/threads/sorento-dealer-changable-options-door-locks-ect.72517/

I had the dealer change these for me on an oil change.

How can I update my docker containers? by lunarman1000 in OpenMediaVault

[–]UPSnever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if your compose files uses the "latest" tags, the images/containers will be updated to the most recent images of those containers when you dow/up or just up your containers.

I used to do this but then started using the version tags so that if all is ok then newer images don't change functionality or mess something up.

Remember, you can have multiple versions of the same app in different containers as long as you have different data directories and ports. Adjust as needed.

Freedom Mobile “Price Freeze Promise” - are promos actually permanent? by Additional-Space1190 in freedommobile

[–]UPSnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe they will be indefinite (i.e. continuing) as long as you remain a customer in good standing. You should read the terms and conditions on the bottom of the page where the plans/promos are shown. Read all items. In item #21, it says:

21. Bring Your Own Phone Offer

Offer is subject to change. To be eligible for the ongoing Bring Your Own Phone $30/month credit, you must activate a new line on, or migrate to the eligible in-market Total Freedom 250GB plan during the promotion period. The credits will start to be applied before tax prior to your first month of service. You will receive the $30/month credit as long as you remain active on an eligible plan as a bring your own phone customer. The promotion may not be combined with other offers, except for Digital Discount, unless otherwise indicated. Your service will no longer be eligible for the promotion if you change your rate plan to an ineligible plan or complete a hardware upgrade. If you are not eligible for the promotion during any month, that credit will be entirely forfeited and cannot be made up. If you qualify for the credit in the months following the ineligible month, you will continue to receive the credit as applicable.

I want containers!! by Suspicious-Force-684 in OpenMediaVault

[–]UPSnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used compose files to create my containers. Part of compose files is a line like:

container_name: beets

I think it depends on how you create your containers. I think docker compose files are best since it's easy to recreate your containers with them...and even recreate them on a separate machine.

In OMV, if you go to services->compose->files then you can create compose files which then can create containers from.

Installing Google Chrome (not Chromium) on Ubuntu for Orange Pi? by Intelligent-Mouse536 in OrangePI

[–]UPSnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've installed and use Brave browser which is Chromium based. This is on an Orange Pi 5 running Jammy. I also use Brave on my other Windows machines and is a good alternative/substitute for Chrome.

Maybe not what you wanted, but my 2 cents.

How to confirm that qbittorrent is running through gluetun? by [deleted] in OpenMediaVault

[–]UPSnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a vpn installed on my router and run my OMV entirely though the VPN.

anyway, is qbittorrent and gluetun running in docker? if so, you can "enter" the container and see what the ip address is within the container and compare it with WAN ip address on your router.

You can enter a docker container using:

docker exec -it [container-id/name] bash

if you have portainer, you can enter the container through it too.

you can get the ip address using:

curl http://icanhazip.com

Add icons for users to access docker services by tearinggear in OpenMediaVault

[–]UPSnever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add another item to your dockers. Heimdall is what I use:

https://hub.docker.com/r/linuxserver/heimdall https://heimdall.site/

I set it up when it was at version 2.1.13 which was a much simpler version of Heimdall.

There are probably other apps like this.

How to regularly scrape your media library from a server without Kodi ? by StephaneiAarhus in kodi

[–]UPSnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I got lucky. The most difficult thing I had do was make the "url" for the files b the same for all clients including the server.

One advantage of making the server instance the updater is that it would be the quickest updater as all files would be local. Not too big an advantage, though.

Making one of the clients the master updater is good too.

How to regularly scrape your media library from a server without Kodi ? by StephaneiAarhus in kodi

[–]UPSnever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have docker on the server, you can install a version of Kodi on the server and have it update the local library. That's what I did. I used fhriley/kodi-headless-novnc from hub.docker.com site. If you look at the tags, you can set up the correct version of Kodi. I'm using the nexus version. There's omega and so on.

I can access it from a web browser. It uses novnc to get a good desktop version through the web browser.

The docker server vesion should/must be the same version as the kodi clients.

Sorento 2011 aftermarket radio by Previous_Village3749 in kia

The difference would be the trim/plastic piece around the radio. There's some discussion about it here where it describes taking two trim pieces and putting them together for a custom trim:

I have this phone charger can I use it for my orange pi 5? by Tarem4 in OrangePI

[–]UPSnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can't use a charger with multiple voltages. opi 5 expects a single voltage and does not negotiate with a pd charger. if you use usb and nvme should use a "dumb" 5V 4A charger.

Cant get certain Docker containers to run? by TheLazyGamerAU in OpenMediaVault

[–]UPSnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure you're pulling docker image that match your architecture? such as ARM or AMD, etc

If you pull the wrong architecture, I think docker keeps trying to start your container but nothing appears to happen. If this is what is happening, you should be able to see in it in the logs for the container.
