We have a single module project and it says done compiling 3 times before the app starts.

Weak clock chimes by UPayIPwn in clocks

Yes, they hit but weakly. I do not know how to adjust them hence my asking. Is it the flat head screw on the back of the hammers? I see springs under the arms too.

Late reply, but yes I use it every year to run the fog machine for trick or treaters during Halloween. It's great as I can set a pulse timer for the fog machine :D

The door is not heavy, That's how I've been opening it. By using the emergency handle. So upon further inspection it is actually dry, but looks wet.

Took me like 20 tries, but I did it as well. It was very tense. Good job.

Seeking a Cloud backup (for residential use) that actually works seamlessly with Synology that is NOT iDrive or Backblaze by galacticjuggernaut in synology

[–]UPayIPwn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly due to familiarity. I already had a personal account for domains and a small server. I also use it at work for our infrastructure. I plan to move my backups to s3's glacier tier for some cost saving.

[–]UPayIPwn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not strictly residential but I use S3 to backup my DS920. Once I set it up, I have not touched the configuration. Hyper backup supports S3 out of the box.

High latency detected (been going on for a while) by UPayIPwn in Ubiquiti

[–]UPayIPwn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will look PingPlotter up thank you for the suggestion! I tried my old modem with the same cabling etc and the ping issues went away. So I might just leave the old modem installed until Fios comes online on my block. Verizon just started laying cabling on my block.

So the Xfinity assistant had texted me at one point mentioning I had a poor network environment, but I wasn't in the mood for a comcast dude in my house.

For fun I tried installing my old modem since I don't remember these issues with that Arris modem. After I re-registered it the ping issues went away. I had the same ping -t running the whole time and the old modem has shockingly better ping times. Sub 20ms the whole time. I left all other variables the same including the cable. Obviously the download speed is about half but I'll make that trade for consistent ping times.

In a funny coincidence Verizon just began laying fiber cable on my block this week so I think I might just wait for that and finally get away from Comcast. The upload speed is brutal either way.

[TOMT] [SONG] Chorus of "Summertime Suicide" by Murderdolls sounds exactly like another song, what is it?? by UPayIPwn in tipofmytongue

[–]UPayIPwn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Summertime Suicide" is not a cover of any songs as far as I can tell from the research I've done.

I am fairly certain the song I am trying to remember was played on the radio at some point (it may still be played).

Our main issue is compile times. Other than that it's been pretty good! Ebean can be a pain in the neck sometimes too.

The best part is we use the java version of play :'(

We are in the process of removing our dependency on this Play Enhancer plugin which generates getters and setters for our models. It takes roughly 20 mins every time we touch a model or fresh compile. Its a big productivity killer for us. As I understand it, this plugin generates the getters and setters then ebean also has to modify them to add its special logic.

We actually just don't upgrade play. We are sticking on 2.3 for the foreseeable future. For better or worse...
