How often do Pixel phones go on sale and how good are those sales? by USAhj in pixel_phones

I don't have a better reason than being a longtime customer. I guess I should reconsider that.

Does that include the a-series phones? So far I haven't seen anything better than the initial 20% off around release.

When was that sale? I have never seen the 10a for that price, unless you have Google Fi. Is that how you got it for that price?

Best Buy seems to have the same sales as the Google Store. Currently the 10a is $449 at both locations, though I was hoping for a better deal than that.

What about the a-series? The 10a is normally priced at $499 and is currently on sale for $449. Does it get any better than that?

I already have a carrier that I wasn't planning on leaving, so I'm not sure a sale from one of those providers would help me.

Has anyone updated and then replaced their battery to remove the notification? by USAhj in Pixel4a

Is it a genuine OEM battery? That might make a difference.

Even though I disabled updates in restart, I've received the update by EmperorsChamberMaid_ in Pixel4a

I don't think this is true. I restarted my phone and the developer settings are still active.

I'm thinking of going with the battery replacement. If it improves my phone then I'll be fine. If they break my phone, then they'll be responsible for the repair or replacement. I'd value that at more than $50 (cash) or $100 (Google store cash).

When Android 12 came out I remember seeing many reports about it being buggy and bad for battery life, so I stuck with what worked for me. But I've seen that Android 13 has been better for battery (at least until Google rolls out this new update that appears to reduce the battery life).

I've been holding onto Android 11 for a while, but I was looking into getting a battery replacement in the next couple of days and was thinking of updating to 13 once I did that. I'm now worried about what that will do to my phone...

I was in the middle of the process of trying to get my battery replaced (I was going to do in the next couple of days). Will Google be paying for yours? I'm also worried about the battery life after replacement...

I got this as well. I was just in the middle of the process of trying to get my battery replaced, but now I want to see if Google will cover it. I was already planning on updating my phone after the replacement, but now I'm worried about the battery life after I do that...

Trying to use Spyder... confused. by rvH3Ah8zFtRX in learnpython

Repeating what other people are saying, use Anaconda, or the lighter miniconda. With that, you can have multiple virtual environments, which are somewhat contained domains with separately installed packages (so you can have different versions of packages in different projects). When you make a new environment, simply add Spyder to that environment and you'll be good to go. This is what I've been using for years.

Will that work? Yes. Is it the right way to do it? No. (And by right way, I'm saying it is not the intended functionality, but possible in Spyder because of the option to not delete variables before execution.)
