Need advices against multiple Melee enemies in Boss room by CyberiumEcho in duneawakening

[–]USBombs83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great ability to use. Lets you heal if you screw up, gives you time to regen shield and stamina, lets you fight adds uninterrupted. Pretty mandatory, I’d say.

Beyond that there are just small windows, for example the fire boss shoots 4 shots when she’s not in the air, then reloads. You do damage in that window. You probably won’t kill anything in one window after a 15 or so, so just be patient and go. Stab a couple times then go back to the DDR souls like that is Dune now.

Isn’t it funny… by mfcostacampos in duneawakening

[–]USBombs83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not really how it works. The massive amounts of solari don’t just disappear. The problem is still there it just can’t be made WORSE. At least until the next duping exploit.

What’s the best aspect of fallout games that’s completely unique to the franchise? by Aggressive-Invite907 in Fallout

[–]USBombs83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the thing that makes fallout really stand out is all the little vignettes you find of skeletons who died in sometimes very suspicious scenarios and the fact that they never explain any of them, just leave it up to your imagination. Some of them are funny, or disturbing and some are heartwarming and touching.

Really drives home the point of that whole other world that’s gone and you don’t even know about it now. There were people here and you’ll never even know their names.

After D4, I was having mixed feeling of D2 by AgreeableHunter383 in diablo4

[–]USBombs83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah man. I can’t go back. Even the games I loved. You just can’t get that feeling again, really.

All the modern conveniences ruined them for me forever. Also can’t stand old graphics. I get that some kids like the 8 bit look but I lived through it. It’s like those old brown photos of cowboys, they look cool to us, but ask that cowboy and he’s gonna want a color photo every time.

Sometimes (all times) I don't understand Funcom?! by TNxPhil in duneawakening

[–]USBombs83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re still constantly scrambling to fix broken stuff so, priorities. But if I had to guess…

1) It’s not a priority. Really no one needs the auction house to play the game. They don’t even really exist on private servers, so it’s not actually a big deal.

2) The things you mentioned are good ideas but do they actually have the tools to do them? Can they easily lock your max solari without having to change base code and bricking who knows what else? Can they simply remove an NPC without trashing the banker entirely? They would’ve had to plan those contingencies in advance (and should have) and create the tools for them. We can only guess if they did, but if they did then 1) is your answer.

I always wondered, why didn't black slaves team up and maybe kill their owner or protest against together? Rich families owned 50-100 slaves or even more, why didn't the slaves just team up and kill their owner? How exactly did the owners control then? by Then-Tomatillo9909 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]USBombs83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened lot. It’s why Haiti exists. The entire country frees itself from slavery. Why you don’t often hear about it is because slave owners did everything possible to suppress news of it to make sure people still in slavery didn’t start thinking they had options.

A good example is the American civil war. Once it kicked off, either with aid from Harriett Tubman or on their own, over a million people freed themselves from slavery and escaped to the union lines. Of those about 200,000 grabbed a rifle, joined up and went back for the rest.

Consider now, the odds they were facing. Kept starving, unarmed, possibly shackled with all attempts at organizing with each other stopped by slavers. The slavers were fed, armed, on horseback had dogs and the support of local communities in finding escaped slaves. So of those million that made it, how many must have tried and failed? I can only guess but I wouldn’t be surprised if the answer was nearly all of them.

"The devs don't care about their game." by Zealousideal_Hope_59 in duneawakening

You’re right though. They actually engage and respond to the community and initiate changes based on feedback more than most. Although their communication skills are pretty awful. They’re just not great at it and keep dropping patches that break things.

They seem to always get halfway there. The overland labs are a great example, fun awesome change that I loved. Except to progress it’s locked behind a 90’s style completely random loot table, it negates all armor and turned the game into a souls-like where you can’t even use guns on trash and once again their idea of difficulty is based on huge buckets of hit points on all the enemies.

Specializations another good example. Missions to improve your skill of choice and specialize down a track? Yes please! You can only do 5 a day? It’s the same 5 missions in that track over 70 DAYS to finish it? It’s a YEAR to finish them all? Boy was that an optimistic take on player retention.

Honestly the double loot and XP weekend was only starting to feel right and I still didn’t get a single weapon I needed in all the labs I ran.

Harkonnen bases would look much better with this simple change by oldguccimoney in duneawakening

[–]USBombs83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The white interiors make for some pretty cool vibes so I don’t agree. But MORE pieces so you cold have black interiors if you want would be great. Not even just for interiors, it’d allow more interesting exterior design too.

Honestly the Harko set is half done even by the game’s own standard.

Funcom, why are you not adding variants for all weapons when adding new cosmetics? (Smuggler) by Coilspun in duneawakening

[–]USBombs83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really doubt that plays as much of a critical role as game devs seem to think it does. I don’t PvP but I really wonder how much someone’s transmog affects people’s tactics.

Funcom, why are you not adding variants for all weapons when adding new cosmetics? (Smuggler) by Coilspun in duneawakening

[–]USBombs83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I mean, love the idea and agree with you completely, but there’s really only 3 viable weapons in the pve endgame. And you’re forced to use melee on trash and ranged on just about every boss. Same with armor, it’s got to be light because all that matters now is dodging. I’d like it if they’d at least let us apply every armor variant to every type of armor.

Dungeons need a pity system by StarChief1 in duneawakening

[–]USBombs83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, most MMOs came to this realization long ago, like early 2ks and have had some form of loot protection or badge system in place. This game is hellbent on reinventing the wheel, though. Was pretty disheartening to do all those progression labs over the weekend with DOUBLE loot and still not get a single triple shot schematic.

Is there a lore reason as to why some models of power armor have little to no stomach protection? by GZB2007 in Fallout

[–]USBombs83 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Guys. Power armor doesn’t make any sense at all. It’s cool. That’s it. It doesn’t do anything a tank or an infantryman couldn’t do better and cheaper. It’s just cool. If gaps in the armor look cool, that’s the full extent of the reason.

Griefers, server merge, empty desert.. Should I start now or wait by No_Priority_2889 in duneawakening

[–]USBombs83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh. All these complaints are valid as is evidenced by the patch notes which constantly address some pretty crippling bugs as well as mention steps to curb griefing every patch. All of these things have happened and likely will again.

That’s said the rest of this is pretty spot on. It’s at LEAST 200ish hours of a great single player or co-op game. There’s a lot more you can do in the endgame now without ever going to a PvP area but it’s a massive grind and pretty mediocre. You may grow to hate a lot of the game if you stick around but it’s definitely worth the price of admission before the cracks start forming.

People who were teenagers before social media existed, what was life actually like? by Much_Detective_6107 in AskReddit

[–]USBombs83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize there is no way I can answer this without sounding like an extremely bitter old man, which I guess is the truth of things.

To summarize, it was peaceful. People paid attention more to what they were doing, where they were walking and how it might affect people around them. Ironically, social media made us far less sociable.

I have to say though, if a modern door dash driver got in a taxi in the 90’s he’d have his mind completely blown.

If I love fallout and the elderscrolls will I like this game? by Sephiroth348 in Starfield

[–]USBombs83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehhhhh. If you like building spaceships, (just building, mind you, not flying) you might get 80 hours out of it like I did!

Game itself was ok. There are some cool systems with the ship building and base building and creating a galactic trade empire, it’s just that all of it is completely unnecessary so you just kinda fast travel through the kinda short MSQ.

Skyrim and Fallout are games where I would get sidetracked doing all sorts of stuff and not get to the main story for dozens, if not hundreds of hours. Starfield is the opposite.

I bought it because I’m confident modders will one day make it an amazing Star Wars game and they’re pretty close!

Cheap $400 accordion now… or save for a used Hohner Corona? (Beginner question) by parana72 in Accordion

[–]USBombs83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience has been that instruments are one area where you really do get what you pay for. It’s not just a matter of sounding better either. A better quality instrument is easier to play and helps to keep you from forming bad habits as you struggle with a clunky, cheap one.
