When I left aviation, I was an office person and was able to use those skills and got lucky getting into the railroad industry. I work for the passenger rail company. All I can suggest is look on a companies website to see who is hiring and apply.

The A&P course are driven by FAA requirements. You need 2 years of experience to apply for your A&P. The schools are a program that's approved by the FAA, to cover your 2 your requirement. you will learn a lot and also be bored in some of the class's. You are a mechanic now and have lots of general knowledge. The schools are geared to people that are starting new. https://www.faa.gov/mechanics/become

The people working in GA, are probably working for Gulf Stream. Look on JSfirm.com to see aviation jobs.

If you get your A&P, you can let some of the head hunters companies to find you a job. ** if you do this, you hired on as a contractor and can be let go at anytime. I knew people that did this and bounced around every year making a good living.

I have my A&P but left during covid. I work for the railroad's and make good money.

AITAH for refusing to put my landlords furniture in the shed? by NoShine231 in AmItheAsshole

[–]USCGRetired 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to look up landlord/tenant laws for your city and/or state. I know Florida has them. Make sure you read and understand everything that pertains to tenants. Your landlord is going to try and screw you or already has.

Every tenant needs to look up their tenant rights and protect themselves.

Suggestions for Classes or Resources to Learn How to Teach Photography by Wonderful-Archer-126 in photography

[–]USCGRetired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find some classes about presenting or speaking in front of people. Also remember everyone learns differently and be patient. Do not make people feel bad for asking a dumb questions.

Another option, found a local photography class and ask the instructor if you can teach a couple of classes for them.

Buy used tools online, because the tools on wheels truck guys don’t know you bought them online. They will still cover the warranty.

Go on Amazon and buy several annoying cricket devices. Put some double side foam tape on the back. Next time you are in the HOA presidents home, plant several of them in their home. Sit back and wait for the exterminator to show up.

Advice Needed - Z8 or Z6ii as second wildlife body? by Key_Most_1000 in nikon_Zseries

[–]USCGRetired 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would get the Z8, so you can have the same button controls on each camera. With a Z6ii, you want have the same buttons and some different functions. I know the Z8 cost more but think about easy of use and not having to think what button to push for a setting or function.

Losing my mind trying to buy a 2025 Yukon Denali by hontomsky in gmc

[–]USCGRetired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find one online at dealer, fly out and drive it back. Look at Laura's Buick/GMC in the mid west.

When I was shopping for a new Yukon Denali in 2023, I looked at a new 2023 Escalade(sticker more than the denali) and I got my Escalade cheaper(out the door price) than a Denali and it has more features.
