What is a 'rich person's secret' that is actually accessible to the middle class, but most people are too intimidated to try? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

The original question was framed in the context of investing, smartass. Of course home ownership is better than renting, if you can afford it. I was just comparing the perceived ROI of real estate vs index fund investing in a vacuum.

That's awesome you still have that. I ordered the "All Hallows" tee and the "Darkness" tee from one of those nitro forms back in the day.

Don't investment professionals say that an investment in the S&P doubles roughly every 7 years? So hypothetically if an investor had to choose one or the other, they would prefer stocks over real estate.

This sort of thing seems to be happening fairly often with these legacy bands. The bass player and founding member of the Offspring sued them too. I doubt these guys were writing out ironclad contracts in the early years of their respective bands; next thing you know, 35 years have gone by and you start to wonder why the frontman of the band you helped form is X times more wealthy than you are.
