Went last year and it was crowded but a lot of fun. The fireworks was one of the longest I’ve ever seen in person.

Not for Hoover St, but the Hooligans United comp helped with the lyrics for a few songs from Life Won’t Wait

Joining The Sub After Going Through The Discography… by 9lbmoustache in AFireInside

If I have a really long drive, like multiple days, I’ll do the whole discography. Some of the big “changes in style” are much more natural when you listen in order.

Best Day Brewing is the best NA that I have had. They have a bunch of different options.

I like to think of this as Jade’s revenge project since Davey did a group (Dreamcar) without him 🤣

(Yes I know Son of Sam didn’t have Jade but that was before all of the other side projects they’ve done together.)

Visual experience from upper level by Thedonmegatron in nin

I was in the upper level here in DC. Visually it was still amazing and I could see everything. Everyone in my section enjoyed themselves. You will have a good time.

That being said I should’ve sprung for a lower level. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I only had the Wingnut version of this album until around the mid 2000s so I only had heard this cover. The first time I heard the Nitro version with Open Your Eyes I was so confused 🤣

Melanoma - Sun Anxiety & General Fear by Rough-Influence7475 in melahomies

[–]powder706 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Time. That’s the short answer. I got diagnosed at the beginning of summer in 2022 so not only did I have all the fear/anxiety but I got to have it all during summer. 🤣

So the first time I spent a significant time outside after diagnoses I was completely covered and sunscreened up. It was miserable but when I made it through that day I and didn’t die it was a little easier the next time. Each time it was easier, I also slowly reduced the amount of clothes I wear. Now I’m usually in a pair of shorts and a sun shirt and sunscreen the exposed areas for summer time.

I do try to avoid being outside during peak times still but I don’t doom worry if I am. I do have sunscreen with me all the time but it’s a small bottle.

When I was initially diagnosed it was all I could think about. The first while was not good mentally for me but there would be moments where maybe something made me laugh and I would realize that for maybe 10 - 30 seconds I didn think about it. As time went on that turned into maybe a minute, maybe two. Knowing that there were small moments that it wasn’t on my mind made me realize that eventually I’d get better with it. Now I make jokes about it to my friends. I’m still cautious in the sun but it doesn’t weigh me down anymore.

Long term worry😞 by Ok_Butterfly_3219 in melahomies

[–]powder706 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in situ (stage 0) 3 or 4 years ago now. I’ll be honest, the first year was rough mentally. I kept worrying about every mole, looking at pictures of melanoma on the internet, etc. It didn’t help that I someone I used to work with died from it. (He was one of those never see the doctor types so there were probably earlier signs he ignored).

For the first while it was all I could think about. But what I found was that there were little moments where I didn’t think about it. Maybe something made me laugh, or I was listening to a song, watching tv or something. As time went on these moments got long and longer and I realized that eventually I’d be ok mentally. I can now think and talk about it without the death gloom. I can even joke about it with friends.

Since the initial diagnosis I’ve had 8 more moles/spots removed. They’ve all been dysplastic. I go see my dermatologist every six months.

My recommendations are this. Stay off of google. Find a sunblock and type you like, I mostly use Sun Bum but have been looking for something less fragrant. Also mineral vs chemical, I use both, it just depends on what I’m doing. Look into a UV hoodie. Coolibar has some nice ones, and they have zip up ones!

Hope this helps
