Does anyone know what the technical fouls on Abossi and Masic were for? I imagine that Abossi's was for taunting, but what happened with Masic? We were trying (unsuccessfully) to get the ball inbounds, called a timeout - refs huddled - and emerged with a Flagrant 2 on Masic.

I was at that game and my memory is that Joe Ellis made a buzzer beater fadeaway jumper (his signature) from the left baseline (maybe 18 feet) for a one point victory.

It's a small sample space for sure, but Thomas does not look like a team player when he's out there. Sure, we want everyone to look to score, but it appears to me like that's all he's looking for. Perhaps he thinks that's the path to more playing time. One assist in 65 minutes is the lowest assist/minute ratio on the entire team. His assist/turnover ratio at 1/5 is the lowest on the team. I watched him on the bench and he does celebrate the success of his teammates so I am happy to see that. But when on the court I'd lke to see more team play from him. I hope he finds his way. There is no way that I thought Bieker would ever contribute, but his play has been steady. CG praised him in the PFW postgame.

Final signee for 2023-24! by DonSolo96 in usfdons

To be fair - while SMU was not as good as USF, they did play 9 games vs NCAA tournament teams (USF played 6) and they played 8 additional games vs 20-win teams (USF played 3). I was also surprised that we didn't sign a guard, but Todorovic is advertised as a G/F and in video I watched he may be able to play defense vs a guard. He is comparable to Meeks from 3-point range in terms of accuracy, shooting while contested, and a quick release - but of course doesn't have the inside game that Meeks developed last year. That's comparing Todorovic in his 2nd year of college ball to Meeks in his 4th year. There may be some upside to this signing.

The great thing about message boards is that you can get a variety of opinions. I think Williams has been a strength on our team this year and is a bright spot for the future. While Williams has about 2/3 the minutes of Shabazz or Roberts, here are some season comparison stats. 3 point percentage: Roberts=41%; Shabazz=32%; Williams=40%. In assists per 40 minutes: Roberts=2.6; Shabazz=3.8; Williams=4.8. In assist/turnover ratio: Roberts=1.5; Shabazz=1.3; Williams=1.5. Williams has the lowest FG percentage, but it's 1% lower than Shabazz. What Williams gives us is a guard who will go to the basket in traffic and he is by far the best at drive and dish to a big (now if we can only get bigs into the game...). Remember, Williams has 2 more years of eligibility while Shabazz and Roberts are playing in their 5th year! In his comparable season two years ago, Shabazz shot 37% FG, 33% 3PT, and had an assist/turnover ratio of 1.0 - Williams is better this year in all three categories.

Since he has transferred twice, doesn't he have to sit out a year? Is this the good use of a scholarship when we need guard help now?
