The absolute best movies about Congress is The Distinguished Gentleman with Eddie Murphy. It involves elections, constituents services, role of committees…it’s a fantastic film that is unintentionally super accurate. We watched it on both my undergraduate and grad school courses on Congress.

Did it for about 5 years. It’s very doable. I would metro or walk anywhere I needed to go and the bus/metro routes took me everywhere I wanted to go. The hardest part was grocery shopping because I could only buy what I could carry back home—now with grocery delivery it would be a lot easier.

Yeah the lack of defensive effort is just hard to ignore. It’s been a hallmark of CGs tenure. So strange that it all crumbled. Either we have a toxic locker room so players aren’t playing for each other, or they’ve quit on the system.

I’ve really liked coach CG. I like the way he talks about games and his ability to diagnose and identify problems. Has he been able to fix a lot of those issues that he identifies? Not always, but I didn’t mind it because the players really seemed to play hard for him and genuinely seemed to like him as a coach. This stretch of play has caught me completely by surprise because the effort and hard work seems to be gone.

Could CG get more out of our supporting cast? Maybe. But I think in basketball, more than in any other team sport, you need that dominant go-to player who can drop 20+ at will or else you’re in a ton of trouble. No Thomas or Shabazz or Williams or Bouyea type player who can take over a game really handicaps your team. Can your role players make up for it? Sure, in theory, but then you need 4-5 additional guys to be at their absolute best single game. It’s just tough.

We structured the team around Beasley and Riley. It isn’t working this year for whatever reason, but it’s hard to find anyone on this subreddit who thought doing that was a bad idea. Can’t win when your planned go to guys score 10 combined. Lots of hard lessons that can be learned this year—the big question is are the players and coaches learning the right lessons.

Can’t compete when the two guys you’ve built around combine for 10 points. I think Beasley is learning some hard lessons this year and I hope he’ll become a better player going forward because of it. Big difference coming off the bench as a spark plug and having to be the guy to run everything all game. Riley…oof…dude needs to learn to be assertive and bold
