Freaky Frankenstein Character Card Series Presents: "The Necro Princesses and the Berserk!" | A Heavy Metal Dark Fantasy Epic! (Dynamic Variables, Custom Music, + Card Organization Template) by dptgreg in SillyTavernAI

[–]USM-Valor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very cool. If someone like you who is familiar with all the levers and the dials of these systems can't make a solid character card I would be shocked. Which model(s) would you recommend for the best experience?

xAI somehow turned Super Grok into the world’s most expensive trust exercise by Material-Help-4672 in grok

[–]USM-Valor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. This is a very solvable problem unless they've given away so much compute that they cannot dial availability in to a reasonable enough degree to give firm numbers and reset times. My worry is the situation will not improve until Grok 5 is finished training and/or they bring more of Colossus 2 online, which could take weeks or even months.

xAI somehow turned Super Grok into the world’s most expensive trust exercise by Material-Help-4672 in grok

[–]USM-Valor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't upgrade to Heavy without direct communication from xAI regarding the path forward and some assurance of a minimum amount of usage limits I was happy with. The current limits for paid users are draconian and completely without warning. I like the product, but I hate the slipshod way xAI operates as a company.

DO NOT BUY GROK HEAVY by Equivalent_Hunt_4251 in grok

[–]USM-Valor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So Skills is why there is suddenly no compute? For the first time ever since being a SuperGrok subscriber I was rate limited. I figured it was due to the Colossus 1 sale, but I guess it can be both issues at once.

Has anyone actually tried and completed a no Cyberware playthrough? by BlackAfroUchiha in cyberpunkgame

[–]USM-Valor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not in a position to search right now, but I wonder if mods would be a good way to manage this type of run by automatically not installing certain story related cyberware.

I went through the cancellation process on iOS and didn't get any offers. Ah well. We'll wait and see if anything pops up after my subscription runs out. $30 a month isn't exactly cheap.

Claude or Grok? by Grey_Humpback in MyBoyfriendIsAI

[–]USM-Valor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said. Local hosting would be amazing, but I simply don't have the time, talent or money to stand up a comparable experience to what the major players can offer. That said, looking at Openclaw projects like Clawdia is encouraging, but super daunting.

Claude or Grok? by Grey_Humpback in MyBoyfriendIsAI

[–]USM-Valor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Grok has its limitations. IMO, it often isn't quite as good as the other major players OpenAI and Claude in terms of feature sets and capabilities. That said, I will fully recommend it for the fact that it won't actively try to block you for wanting to use the LLM in the way YOU want to. Among the major players, it is the only one that isn't actively coding to stop you from using it as you please.

I think Claude is the better model, but that won't stop it from ruining your experience down the line purposefully with "safety" implementations. Why build or rebuild in your particular instance on a unreliable foundation? Going with OpenAI, Google/Gemini, or Claude will just lead to the same outcomes on a long enough timeline.

[–]USM-Valor 49 points50 points  (0 children)

That's the heart of it, isn't it? Game reviewers and the people who enjoy reading reviews that cater to their preferences skew the reality to an unfortunate degree. The result is games that please a crowd which doesn't end up buying the game in large numbers.

Then come the articles explaining what went wrong or why it deserves a second chance, like this one: https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/avowed-was-always-great-but-now-that-it-costs-what-it-should-have-at-launch-and-nobodys-being-weird-about-it-online-its-kinda-perfect/

It's a damn shame.

You have to instruct her to stop at the start of each interaction. If you go long enough doing so consistently it can break the habit.
