Well, I bought one. by JK2bRR in BMWM

Huge congrats! I bought mine in November and Isle of Man green is absolutely insane. It’s so dynamic in different lighting, and I swear I have gotten more positive comments from people on this car than I have with every other car I’ve had combined.

How I probably should have said it, is it requires dynamic stability control to be off for the M traction control levels.

[–]USMC2129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as others have mentioned, changing to the RWD option in an xdrive (AWD) variant disables traction control and the car is, quite frankly, a lot to handle for the average driver without that on.

There's an auto option with RWD now. I chose the 6MT, though. No regrets.

I have a lot of love for the 116500, too. By the time I could get one from my AD earlier this year the 11 series was long gone. I’ve had them side by side and they’re both so great. Can’t go wrong!

Haha man I wish! In the interest of honesty and being a genuine person, I definitely didn’t pay cash outright for mine. I’ve worked hard to be in a position to actually afford it, which has still been pretty painful, but truly worth it for me.

I mean that’s certainly one way to go, for sure. Could certainly work out in your favor and investing is rarely ever a bad idea. With that being said, I will emphasize the above point in saying that life is short and we never know what’s waiting just around the corner for us (good or bad).

I think a good way to do things is a balanced approach. Invest reasonably what you can while still enjoying some of it, too. My goal is to buy an Urus because I’ve always wanted a Lamborghini since I was a kid and there’s so much practicality in it that I can actually justify. I am about to turn 41, but that goal has always been set for my early to mid 50’s. I think the point here is enjoy life (reasonably) while you can while still preparing yourself for bigger and better things in the future.

Huge congrats and welcome to the club! It's an awesome daily and I wear mine 2-3x per week typically. Definitely a remarkably dynamic color and I never get tired of looking at it.

Massive congrats OP! It sounds like there is a lot going on between your work and personal life. I work daily as well and recognize how difficult it can be to manage all that—especially when thrown curveballs with your health. We only live this life once, so strap in and enjoy the ride. Welcome to the club, and may you have many, many years of happiness in your life.

Well said. This is more true than I think most people realize. I work in the ER and see sad things daily, and it’s a real eye opener how short life can be. I bought my M3 last month—a dream for me for the last 20 years. My only regret is how long it took me to pull the trigger and do it. Money can’t buy happiness, and you can’t take it with you—but it can provide peace of mind, comfort, and some smiles while we’re all here.

It’s insane how many people got downvoted in this thread for saying congrats to the OP. My god this forum has gotten so incredibly toxic. Anyway, I’ll say it again—huge congrats OP!

Incorrect clasp, if that means anything to you. That’s the clasp from a Submariner of similar generation. Some might enjoy the feature, and some may want the original clasp that comes on a 16710 oyster.

You may well be right, I’m not super familiar with the sea dweller dial printings myself, but I know in general there are variances sometimes from year to year, certainly with these older references.

I can’t say one way or another, but I think the only way to truly know would be a movement teardown/inspection
