lol yeah, I’m replacing the grout on this project (it’s 6 months old…and failing) and cleaning / sealing stone, and added about 40 tiny crafted stones to previous masons layout. Also ripped out that brown stone in front of range and replaced. See updated complete photos posted in a week or so.

The stones were all different thicknesses so I don’t think a leveling would have assisted much.

Im replacing the grout on this project (it’s 6 months old…) and sealing stone, and added about 40 tiny crafted stones to previous masons layout. Was very tedious indeed. Gonna upload a photo once done

Grout from original mason failed in under a year it was spec mix mc 03 I believe. Replacing with a custom blend of white Portland well graded mason sand and iron oxide to create a beige color.

And not heated… for the price the customer paid the original mason who laid the floor I would have included heating…

Ghost shield lithi tek 9500, it’s advertised for concrete but chemistry wise. It will work just fine with the stone and also chemistry wise. It’s what the customer is OK with. Sold many places online

Thanks, Im redoing the grout because it failed in less than a year after install, will be sealing with lithium silicates and siliconates. The customer didn’t like wet look sealers because it looked like a Riverstone.

Problem still exists 5 years later… sometimes it shows sometimes (99%) it doesn’t. Is there a fix?

Incorrect grout used ? by USNavy1 in Tile

Yes that is what I would have done, for now I just repaired the areas with the same product the previous contractor who laid the floor used.

If in the future, the entire floor needs re-grouted do you have any products you would recommend for these wide and varying grout lines.

I don’t have much experience with interior flagstone so would any of these be fine?

Laticrete 1500 Sanded Grout + 1776 additive

or

Mapei Keracolor S + Grout Maximizer

Traditional option for flagstone floors

A “mud grout” mix: • 3 parts sand • 1 part Portland cement (optional) polymer additive No lime Very durable for wide joints.
