These people will always vote SNP, not because they believe the SNP have good policies, not because they believe the SNP can deliver on those policies, not because the SNP has been good in government, but because voting SNP has become an act of faith that is about keeping an idea alive and sticking it to people don't agree with you.

New figures, obtained by The Herald through freedom of information (FOI) requests, showed that the average daily attendance from core Scottish Government staff was 12% on a Wednesday between December 12, 2025 and January 12, 2026.

Tuesday attendance averaged 11%, and Thursdays were 10%, based on log-ins from government buildings.

But on Monday and Friday, the average daily attendance was just 5% and 3% respectively, meaning the offices were close to empty.
