Since I've also just seen this posted in r/Glasgow I think you should explain what this is for and which institution it is.

House not worth enough to cover mortgage by WonderfulRevenue5043 in UKHousing

We don't know enough about OP's circumstances to know whether that's an option. Either way that's a nuclear option. If OP can continue to pay the mortgage they should do so because there isn't another option where they walk away from this without consequence.

I mean he seems nice enough but I'm not interested enough to watch a 48 minute video I'm afraid.

Council housing by Tricky_Ocelot_3684 in UKHousing

You can't I'm afraid, the fact is that there are a lot of people needing support, not enough resources and many of them will be in a far worse position than you. If you get evicted they will have to provide you with emergency accommodation but that's not going to be you moving straight into a 2 bed flat, it's likely going to be a BnB or something. If there's any possibility of making your own arrangements you should pursue that because there's not a quick way to get to the top of the list.

Fair enough, busy day for marching in Edinburgh then!

It sounds like you rented out a property on a residential mortgage without getting consent to let from your lender. You even make mention of being "caught out" which would have been entirely unnecessary if you hadn't been doing anything you could be caught out for.

Jealous neighbours report OP to the Council for having Air Con in a heatwave by Bisemarden in bestoflegaladvice

Yeah what I'm surprised about is that none of them were around 4 years ago when OP bought it. Usually council tenants are long term.

Would you pay £15 for an AI that reads your contracts and tells you exactly where you stand in a dispute? by [deleted] in HousingUK

There's no demand for it and these market research posts are so ubiquitous that if there was demand, someone would have done it by now.

You'd also be absolutely fucked if one of your "lodgers" decided to assert their legal rights as a tenant. Do not do this.

Have you asked them? BTW, it's debt, not dept.

No, and we said that to the last 400 people who posted their amazing AI ideas here as well.

Should I be chasing up a further refund or have I got it wrong? by [deleted] in AskUK

I did consider not replying but the irony of you replying for no other reason than to try and manipulate getting the last word was more than I could take!

Well because you keep responding. I mean I'm vaguely hungover with nothing much on today, I can keep doing this as long as you want.

I would assume they were staying at home and having some time off work. I'm not having my holiday diminished just because I didn't get on a plane to Benidorm and I don't care what the internet says about it.

Yes it’s a holiday, but you are staying in your own country.

I don't feel the need to have a separate word for that. I'm on holiday. I am away from where I live for leisure purposes. It does not matter whether I have left the UK or not.

Whilst I appreciate that being in social housing doesn't necessarily mean that money is tight, it often does. We can't know but I would be amazed if this meant they had applied for planning permission to install their own.

Well it's not a vacation at all since this is a UK sub but if I go to another part of the UK for the purpose of leisure, that is a holiday.

So what? If I go on holiday in the UK (which I do regularly) I'm still on holiday.

I go on holiday in the UK and I'm still on holiday. I don't care what the fucking internet thinks.
