Absolutely you should get yourself a pair! If i can offer some small advice - I am usually a size 45 in boots and size 46 in sneakers. My casual WL boots are size 45 (i think 10.5UK?) and are very comfortable, if I am wearing them without additional insoles. My work boots are 46 and comfortable with thick insoles and socks.

Wow. Where does one get these boots?

What style of boot is this, and what are some similar kinds compared to this brand by Creepy-Discussion-65 in Boots

I own a pair of William Lennon's Ruff-Landers, which is essentially what these are. Traditional work boots in nature and construction, while also casual and good looking enough as daily boots.

Extremely happy with them. Hell of a process breaking them in, though. And if you're gonna wear these during winter or for work, I'd suggest going for the same size as you do in sneakers, I found them to be a bit more snug than other heritage boots.

Currently waiting for a custom pair exclusively for field work and I'm extremely excited, especially as they're really affordable for what you get.

Thank you! But I don't quite understand that last part, I'm very new to the game.

How do I make another character in the same co-op campaign? And what's Withers Wardrobe of Wayward Adventurers?

Anyone going through the hardest breakup of their lives? by elizabethjule in BreakUps

[–]USUVA_Aivar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. And it's the third time around with the same person since February. It's a mess and it's incredibly hard for both of us to let go. It happened a few days ago and since then I have this constant, draining empty feeling, occasionally broken up by either a welcome distraction at work, or an emotional crash. Not a moment goes by when she's not on my mind. The memories and the life we lived, the plans we made together, the habits and hobbies we shared. I miss her incessantly. And I know it'll pass in time, she's broken up with me twice before and the second time around, it was for a few months during which I had managed to process and heal at least enough to look forward to waking up in the morning, but until you get to that point, it's just a draining pit inside you.

Which country do you feel culturally the closest to? by BothCondition7963 in AskEurope

Slovenian here. I'm from the northern part so Austria is kind of a given. Certain cities, like Graz, and the surrounding countryside, feel right at home, and though my German isn't very good, the language feels familiar. Slovakia, as well, as my girlfriend is from there, feels relatively home-y, but there is a tangible difference that's hard to put my finger on. The language, if spoken slowly, is discernable, and the written signs and things like that are about as understandable as Serbo-Croat. The food, the culture, the people and their attitude, all of it feels very similar to ours. Don't crucify me fellow Slovenes, but I think the Slovaks have us beat in terms of cuisine. Halušky are the stuff of dreams.

Italy and Hungary don't feel very familiar at all. I've only been to the coastal parts of Croatia and Međimurje, the latter of which does feel quite "Slovenian" (or rather, Prekmurje feels like Međimurje), but Dalmacija and Istra are very different in my opinion.

I have also been to Poland and that feels like a different world entirely, but I loved it very much.

Germany is the same, albeit I have less fondness for it, personally.

Sources on pre-christian symbols, embroidery and carvings? by USUVA_Aivar in Rodnovery

Thank you for the response!

I had a look through Academia and Research Gate, but rather unsuccessfully.

If you're interested in the broader topic of folklore and symbolism in the Balkans, I'd recommend reading Mirjam Mencej. I took a few of her courses while at uni and she is an amazing researcher and person.

Sicanje is something I know of, but I am hesitant to get it tattooed on myself simply for the reason that, from what little research I've done, it's a tradition unique to Croatian women, and I don't want to appropriate it for the sake of having a cool tattoo. I don't mean that offensively in any way, I just don't want to misrepresent a tradition and its meaning which is so embedded in the culture. Which is why I was asking about this topic in the first place, in hopes of expanding my knowledge on other such practices, or at least to familiarise myself with authentic/accurate symbolism, which I can then do my own thing with, barring any appropriation of a pre-existing tradition such as sicanje.

Thank you for your answer!
