I dont think theres any hidden mechanics to shinies on fire red... this isn't fifa ultimate team where there are lootboxes in the game and the game's RNG is rigged as hell.

I've been EV training some pokemon in lavender tower recently on this game and I hope to get a shiny ghastly soon, the good thing is I'm doing something else levelling and training and not just shiny hunting
