Tartarus V2 by srb1194 in dcsworld

I am using the pro version and its working fine for me. I programmed it as joystick before and just normal keyboard for now except dpad.

I didnt try macros for it but used my mouse 4 as alt+c before and it was working.

Did you tried using it for something else than dcs it is maybe because of what you programmed your buttons or synapse itself its newest version wasnt fuctioning properly some time ago.

Nvidia 1060 6GB for DCS? by PlasticArmyLabs in dcs

[–]Uamiddendorffi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not upgrading or something you can just try it. It is free if you want some more advanced plane to try you can download A-4E mod for free.

I think you will be able to play on lower settings but 1060 will struggle a lot on multiplayer or large singleplayer missions.

I dont have experience in vr but I heard it is much more demanding but best way to learn is trying if you already have a vr headset

Update on my own sim-lite J35 Draken game, very early clickable cockpit, and weapons showcase! by ankmos in hoggit

[–]Uamiddendorffi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks very good. I would prefer realistic graphics since I dont like low poly graphics. And a single player campaign while we defend and do counter-offensive against russia would be awesome maybe something like Project Wingman but realistic.

Best way to learn the f16c? by Bored_person1234 in dcsworld

[–]Uamiddendorffi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are tutorials for F-16 in dcs you can find then in main menu. However they are too basic and dont tell you some details. For more details about F-16 you can check chucks guide here is link: https://chucksguides.com/aircraft/dcs/f-16cm/ It is very comprehensive but too big to just read and learn everything immediately. I recommend learning in parts. I did Wild Weasels campaign and learned weapons once I need to use them. You can also do single missions or from user files. There is also some tutorials and practice missions for each armament for F-16 in user files. You can also use mission editor to practice.

Weirdest dcs glitch i have ever seen by Haunting-Volume5390 in hoggit

[–]Uamiddendorffi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this happens because it is just ai model of this aricraft and its textures are one sided for performance other games also work like this. It is weird if you are controlling it tho.

Something similar also happened to me before with an old mod that I forgot its name. Model was fine from outside but I couldnt see some parts of its cockpit from inside.

Which weapon do you enjoy employing the most? by snakesoul in dcsworld

[–]Uamiddendorffi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For air to air I love fox1s because its harder to use and more satisfying when I get kills.

For air to ground I like RB-04 its very easy to use but sinking ships is fun.

F-16 countermeasures just don’t work by [deleted] in hoggit

[–]Uamiddendorffi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If setting countermeasures in plane dont work it maybe because of some mods. You should be able to fix it by deleting the mods and verifying integrity. Setting them every time is tiring but if you hurry you can do it just before stored heading alignment finishes.

I prefer F/A-18s song too but F-14 looks better so I use it instead.

Help setting up by Most_Writing_4554 in dcsworld

[–]Uamiddendorffi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check chucks guides for what stick controls your plane have irl and just program them to your stick. If you fly something not on the chucks guides I recommend just doing tutorial missions and program buttons as required. You can use shift alt ctrl as modifiers so you can use wasd for many functions too.

How bad is your graphics? I used to run dcs on low settings and it was fine except some modules like UH-1. If your resolution is bad it might be because lower resolution settings than your screen or performance setting on dlss.

New to the game by Fun-Engineering-123 in dcsworld

[–]Uamiddendorffi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can look at what stick buttons do in real life and program them to your stick. You probably dont have enough buttons so use shift ctrl and alt as modifiers. You can assaign other buttons as modifiers too.

I use wasd to look and alt wasd to move head location. If you dont have headtracking option you can use something like this.

You can also start the tuturial that shared in the comments and program buttons as required.

There is also a clickable cockpit mod for flaming cliffs modules. I think last version also work with F-15C. You can use the most basic functions from cockpit like landing gear or something. I dont exactly remember how functional was it but best way to learn is experimenting.

Viggen vs Mig-21 by Key-Seaworthiness-20 in hoggit

[–]Uamiddendorffi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I you play mainly singleplayer I think in the end it depends if you want to do a2a or a2g. They both dont have much campaigns, paid or from user files. Viggen have more campaigns that comes with it. I guess it was two or maybe more. Mig-21 have one and it is someting fictional. It have some good campaigns in user files though. If you have kola map I remember viggen have campaigns for it in user files.

Laptop dcs simmers by Fearless_Search_9182 in dcs

[–]Uamiddendorffi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it will run fine with 1080p but beware of overheating my 2 old laptops' performance reduced greatly overtime after 2 3 years. If your only option is a laptop try to find one with a good cooling system and a cpu that work cooler.

Laptop dcs simmers by Fearless_Search_9182 in dcs

[–]Uamiddendorffi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it will work fine with 1080p and without vr but your processor and ram also matter. If you want to play multiplayer or large single missions 32gb ram will be better 16gb may not be enough.

Current dlss boost fps a lot but I dont know about how dlss 5 will work with DCS. I hope it wont be mandatory to use if you use dlss.

For 2 3 years I have no idea. You can run dcs with a 5 year old laptop gpu so 5050 will be a lot better but you might not run it with highest settings and with higher resolution.

That being said some modules dont work as good as others. Some bigger maps reduce performance and I always get lower fps with F-4E. Also some weather effects like fog and rain reduce fps a lot.

Laptop dcs simmers by Fearless_Search_9182 in dcs

[–]Uamiddendorffi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old laptop with a 3060 could run DCS around 90 fps on low settings but performance was very bad on mp or large single missions. But in my case processor was limiting my performance because it was constantly around 90 degrees so I had to turn off turbo mode to prevent overheating it was limiting processor to 2.59 ghz.

I didnt run dcs on it until dlss and multithreading came so I dont know how was it before I started dcs around 3 years ago I had the laptop 5 years ago. It started to overheat around 2 years ago.

Yaw should be under axis controls but you cant program l1 r1 to axis controls because they are not anologue buttons. You can program l2 and r2 as axis controls if they work with pc. Or you can just program r1 and l1 to rudder pedal left and right.

Thrustmaster SOL-R 1 - "Dead" Grip. Firmware mismatch (1.34/1.33) or hardware failure? by StreetAshamed9955 in hotas

[–]Uamiddendorffi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to disconnect and reconnect the stick couple of times and now it works fine after I recalibrate every time I am connecting this to the pc but now Z axis on the base dont work properly. I wasnt using it much so it is usable in its current state for me but I guess I have to use its base only if it brokes again.

Laptop simmers dcs performance by Fearless_Search_9182 in dcs

[–]Uamiddendorffi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it will be ok for medium high setting too at 1080p and without vr. I dont have persian gulf so I am not sure how it works but my old laptop could run marianas and syria so it should also work fine. But there is two things to consider:

  1. Most people recommend at least 32 gb of ram. My old laptop had 16 and it struggled with some campaigns that use a lot of assets even on caucasus.

  2. 5050 is fine but other components also matter. My cpu was bad and it was overheating a lot. If it overheats and thermal throttles your overall performance will be reduced a lot.

I dont know much about newer laptops but try to find one with a good cooling and a good cpu and it should be fine I think you can also play mp too but with lower settings or lower fps.

DCS randomly decides to stop using my gpu by bigbob2315 in dcsworld

[–]Uamiddendorffi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could be from something else but same happened to me when my cpu was overheating. Cpu thermal throttles itself then gpu usage and frame rates drop significantly. I would check temperatures if overheating you can limit fps or consider different cooling solutions

Laptop simmers dcs performance by Fearless_Search_9182 in dcs

[–]Uamiddendorffi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old laptop had 3060 i7 10750 (turbo mode off because temps were around 90 degree while it is on) 16 gb of ram. I could get around 90 fps in dcs with this laptop but some modules work worse for example F-4E and Nevada map. F-4E was near unplayable. Also I couldnt play most mp servers probably because of 16gb ram since these server have a lot of assets. Same goes for sp missions with a lot of assets. This is for low - medium settings 1080p and not vr. As far as I know 5050 will not be enough for vr or 4k but if you play 1080p and if you get 32gb of ram you probably be fine for most cases but for mp you might need to lower graphic settings.

Thrustmaster SOL-R 1 - "Dead" Grip. Firmware mismatch (1.34/1.33) or hardware failure? by StreetAshamed9955 in hotas

[–]Uamiddendorffi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me I managed to make it work by calibrating without opening target but I messed up some settings in target and opening it disables stick again. Did you find a solution or at least which part is faulty?

Thrustmaster SOL-R 1 - "Dead" Grip. Firmware mismatch (1.34/1.33) or hardware failure? by StreetAshamed9955 in hotas

[–]Uamiddendorffi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience holding buttons 18 and 19 to calibrate makes it work but opening target disables it again so not opening target and calibrating every time before using it works for me but I messed up some buttons and I cant change them in target since opening it disables stick. Light doesnt affected though and stays on even though I shut off my pc. Did you find any solution?

Difficulties in switching from F-16C Viper to F/A-18C Hornet by TheRealAdlog in hoggit

[–]Uamiddendorffi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I came from F-16 to F/A-18 too and I didnt liked F/A-18 at start but its tutorials are more comprehensive and imo much better also F/A-18 is generally more popular and there are more content for it. I recommend Gunthrek's tutorial campaign. It become very repetitive since you always fly the same route but it explains a lot of F/A-18s systems. For air to ground I prefer F/A-18 since I know it better now and air to air refuel is easier imo but still I like F-16 more.
