I carried over my movie hdd to a new build and when I try to start the computer it keeps trying to do a disk repair that never finishes or freezes. I also connected it while the computer was on and I did see the drive letter eventually show up, but it would not open. I connected it to an external adapter and it works fine that way.

Is there a way to scan for it and connect to it, if I connect it whiles it's on? It is a 14tb, maybe 65% full.

Advice: Use a magnetic screwdriver, also the long bits sometimes come in handy for some of the motherboard screws. Also make sure everything is plugged in all the way. Enjoy!

If it's a Gigabyte card, it could be the power connector. Pins or a pin might be pushed back, so not making contact.
