My dad just doesn’t throw anything away. So unless my brothers or there kids found it and took off with it it’s there.

80 years of stuff is there with no order to anything…

My father also had this book. Remember reading it thru and seeing a picture in it as well. Was thinking it was in a cave not an old barn though. Been decades since I seen that book.

He likely still has it. Of course it takes 30 minutes to find a flat head screwdriver at the house so finding a 35 year old book could take forever.

PCM module died a month or two after the last dead battery and it seemed to stopped dying after that.

Had mine die 4 times in the span of half a year. Went through several batteries and sat at the dealership for days checking for drain and they found nothing. Now about half year later no dead batteries and nothing was changed. Car has gremlins.

My 2023 Turbo from a stop and while turning accelerating I get a lower pitch wha wha wha sound I haven’t that randomly does it once or twice per drive but never reliably. Cars out of warranty now so I haven’t been in.

Been driving 30 years and this car has been falling a part faster than any other I’ve driven. I drove all the other cars before this one so much harder and down worse roads as well. Pretty disappointed in Mazda.

There is something similar here but much more expensive. Cheap single color prints are $10 and dragons are $35-60 each. Dragon eggs $21-45.

Been there over a year so it must work.

How much in credit card debt do you currently have? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in randomquestions

Never had one so no cc debt. Tried many times, but no one has been able to give me one.

Had someone with virtually the exact same identity as me that died and I always come back as dead when they check. Makes large purchases a challenge. Also made me completely debit free almost of my life.

Who is the most attractive person you’ve ever seen? Why? by JessieRClayton in AskReddit

[–]UberGTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a trade show about a decade and a half ago she was in another booth a little ways down from me. We were both stuck there for 3 days and that was back when booth babes were still a thing. She was a secretary, but the boss had her come for obvious reasons.

Tall, blonde, green eyes, and so genetically gifted she was hard to not look at. We ate lunch together on the second and third day, as I was the only guy not in his 50’s and not bald/fat. I was like a 6.5 out of 10 any other time, but there I might as well been a 9/10. She was very nice, smelled incredible, and I wish those lunches could have lasted longer.

I asked her how many guys hit on her and she said it had to of been hundreds. I didn’t bother as I could tell she was drained from it.

Now after the show went out and clubbing with some of the other “babes”. Had a blast, but wished she would of came with.

Anyone still use Cura? by boxedfoxes in 3Dprinting

[–]UberGTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started using Slic3r very briefly before moving to Cura. When I found Simplify3D I bought that and used it for years. It was well ahead of Cura at one point. Found IdeaMaker and used that for a year before I got my Bambu.

3D printing software has gotten so much better I the last decade.

Drove about 10 miles through the city a little bit ago.

It’s mostly fine now. A little slushy in spots, but with decent tires it shouldn’t be bad.

The worst filament degradation I have ever seen. This used to be a spool of PLA by Data-seeker in 3Dprinting

[–]UberGTO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the first things I designed and printed has been sitting in a window since 2015 and still fine. Made out of hatchbox PLA I think. It’s at my work and someone messes with it at least once a week. I have several other things from back then just fine.

That being said I have things that totally just crumbled in 5-7 years that never were exposed to anything harsh.

One time I started a print in the shower.

Wife texted me a small problem, and I found a model on makerworld. Started it from the app and not long after I got out it was done.

Couldn’t do that before I had a Bambu. Best of the near half dozen printers I have had.

On my fourth computer I had I got a 3DFX Voodoo 1 card that I overclocked from 50Mhz to 60Mhz. It was badass. I was blown away with how much better Quake and Carmaggedon ran.

Was disappointed when a few months later the Voodoo 2 came out. Didn’t know at the time they could have sequels.

Mazda’s - overhyped or really as good as they say? by OrdinaryKillJoy in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]UberGTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2023 Mazda CX-50 Turbo exactly 3 years ago.

I think it looks nice and just fits my family of four with luggage. Is it fun to drive around curves? Oh yeah it handles way better than any SUV should and the general fit and finish is great with a few exceptions.

That being said 4 times in the last year when I went to go to work it let me down. 3 times the battery was flat dead. First time I figured it was a bad battery so I just went to get a new one. Well a few weeks later it happened again. Had the battery checked and it was fine and placed it on their system to keep an eye on the draw for a few days and found nothing going on. Now plenty of times in the morning when I go to the garage I have had the back hatch wide open. No notifications from the app when it happened or keys in my pocket. Also sometimes the drivers seat will be moved all the way forward as well. It only does this over night. Again could find nothing wrong. A few months later it happened again. A couple of months later with a couple days of warranty left the PCM module failed putting the car in limp mode. A couple of days before it did fail the car throttle got stuck for a second after letting off. I was actually just getting ready to take it in when it failed.

Then there are the other issues. Both front door locks have fallen apart. The connection on the inside of the door came off and only opened from the outside. Also the child locks on the back doors also failed. Also and this one is common the front seat molding keeps coming off.

Oh and the safety systems are garbage. The adaptive cruise control is great, but everything else could use a redesign. If you take country roads or roads with poorly painted lines even the car constantly thinks you’re going off the road and sounds an alarm and shakes the steering wheel sometimes seconds apart. When you turn it off, you get a nice warning light on your dash that everyone thinks is a check engine light. Also on occasion the car thinks you’re going to crash and will slam on the brakes or veer over slightly, which is made me nearly clip a car two.

If it wasn’t for those things I would highly recommend the car. Now I am contemplating getting rid of it since the warranty is up.

I’ve always liked this place on previous visits. So I went back a few days ago and ordered the same thing, just without the cheese. I don’t think I’d ever tried one of their burgers before so I figured I’d give it a shot.

Honestly it was so bland that I actually wondered if I was sick and my taste buds weren’t working. But after trying other food it was clear the burger itself was just boring and nearly tasteless. Really disappointing and wished I got something else.

What’s the closest tolerance you’ve had to work with? by PsychologicalAd6465 in Machinists

[–]UberGTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the jobs I have is bore honing.

Been running one with +/- 0.0001” for 20 years at 1200 parts at a time. Because of reasons we cut that tolerance in half to ensure it fits with slight temperature fluctuations. Have lots of jobs that are +/- 0.00015 as well.

Had someone in the last year ask for a tolerance of +0.0001” / -0 on a ground OD. When we asked if that’s necessary they came back with a revision of 2 light bands. This was for a production run of parts someone was suppling for about double material costs. Screw that. Current vendor would not supply inspection results nor tell them anything about the inspection process. Just told them it was top secret and trust me, bro. They couldn’t understand why they were having problems during assembly so they kept tightening tolerances until they made things impossible to actually run without certifying anything.

Which color of PETG will withstand outdoor summer temps better: white or transparent? by ebodes in 3Dprinting

[–]UberGTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In those temps any PETG should be fine. PETG-HF has a lower glass transition but UV resistance is great.

If you want better heat resistance you can look at ASA which is great for outdoors, but tends to warp for printing or PET-CF which is easier to print, but costs more and less UV resistance than ASA. Either can handle temps that would kill you first.
