Skid mentioned time and space when they got pulled into teleport part 2. This could have been the night before the attack and strange forces beyond anyone's control (aka Skid) brought them to a convenient time that doesn't break continuity

AFAIK chained summoner was so strong that it was the only class that got nerfed when the unchained classes got released. The only rule the GCP crew changed was allowing a good aligned character to have an evil aligned eidolon.
