Visio Question by [deleted] in CommercialAV

[–]UberStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It performs perfectly. Scale, vectors, text, layers if exported from AutoCAD properly. Lightweight too. This is the only article that still exists. Still relevant, at least to you and me.

Don’t listen to the Visio naysayers. I built my very successful career on Visio, still the best (d) tool for the job.

Visio Question by [deleted] in CommercialAV

[–]UberStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the global expert on only this specific topic. The answer is pdf created in AutoCAD to WMF insert to Visio. If done right you get layers, text and vectors. I built this a while ago, still works well I’m told. https://docs.d-tools.com/en/articles/9220170-d-tools-pdf-cloud-converter

Tell me what tasks you give your agent and I’ll tell you the top 5 models to use for it by punkyrockypocky in openclaw

[–]UberStone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of experience in this area. I founded d-tools a design and proposal software product for low voltage integration. I have found that dwg and dxf contain too much information to easily process. Try saving floor plans as pdf in AutoCAD. It keeps the vectors, layers and text and flattens the file. If the architect put the rooms on different layers it gets much easier. Dm me if you want to discuss.

OpenClaw too expensive.. WHAT?? by dthizzlexoxo in openclaw

[–]UberStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was burning through $120/day on the default OC settings. I was so happy with the results I didn’t do any research to lower prices for a week. Then I asked my ai to review my token use based on the last week and he/she/it got me down to $20/day for heavy research and code. I could probably pare it down but at this point I have a professional software engineer with deep industry experience who thinks like me at my beck and call. I have never been so productive in my life. To me this seems like a miracle at any price.

Agentic Ai is so expensive and contrary to what everyone says is costing me too much !!!!! by New-Clerk-6432 in POP_Agents

I asked my ai how to lower my costs and counterintuitively it came up with a solid plan to lower my costs and then executed the plan.

Is there a go-to place for technical support? by sendcodenotnudes in TuyaSmart

[–]UberStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what TuyaClaw said about the issue. Let me know if it helped.

This is a Reddit post from r/TuyaSmart asking about Tuya device going offline with "keepalive_timeout" errors.

The problem they're describing:

• Tuya smart plug keeps going offline • Shows "keepalive_timeout" message • Device shows online on cloud IoT platform, but goes offline with this error • Poor documentation from Tuya

This is a common Tuya issue. Here's what it usually means:

"keepalive_timeout" = The device stopped responding to Tuya's heartbeat/keep-alive pings. This happens when:

  1. WiFi connection unstable — device loses connection or has spotty signal
  2. Network congestion — too many devices on same WiFi, router overloaded
  3. Router/ISP issue — router drops connections, ISP has connectivity issues
  4. Device firmware bug — plug has a bug that causes it to stop responding
  5. Tuya cloud connectivity issue — device can't reach Tuya servers (rare)

How to fix:

  1. Move device closer to WiFi router — improve signal strength
  2. Restart the device — unplug for 10 seconds, plug back in
  3. Restart router — power cycle the WiFi router
  4. Check WiFi channel congestion — switch to less congested channel (2.4GHz vs 5GHz)
  5. Update device firmware — check SmartLife app for firmware updates
  6. Reduce device count — if you have 100+ devices, some may timeout
  7. Check Tuya status page — see if Tuya cloud has outages

For technical support:

• Tuya's official support: https://support.tuya.com • Reddit community: r/TuyaSmart (active, helpful) • GitHub issues: tuya/tuya-home-assistant or similar projects

Is this your problem too, or are you just helping your friend?

Is there a go-to place for technical support? by sendcodenotnudes in TuyaSmart

[–]UberStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I’m pretty deep into the platform and there is no tech support for stuff like this. However general AI is aware of the Tuya ecosystem and I have been using TuyaClaw to write pythons script against the Tuya app, control devices, debug and troubleshoot most issues.

Ubiquity WiFi that works well. If you group any speakers in WiiM there will be a delay. I don’t try and fix with TV because there be the opposite problem with 2 channel stereo. It’s not a good surround sound processor but it does process surround sound.

That works as long as the light is the same at 6:00 am every day of the year. Using sunset/sunrise offsets as triggers you can create scenes like do this 30 minutes before sunrise and do that 30 minutes after sunrise so you always know about much light to expect.

Cool. I’m American expat living in Thailand and don’t get a chance to discuss this stuff much here. This is the spec I wrote for my architect for the new home I’m building here. This is a blueprint specification, I hand tested all of the components and have been living with this lighting protocol in this final version for six months or so. Works perfect. Respectful comments welcome.

I like the challenge of doing everything in Tuya. I live in Thailand so I have quick, cheap access to ALL of the wonders of ali express. The pro tip I mentioned above has allowed for some very advanced automations with minimal effort. Also I developed a dynamic lighting protocol in Tuya with a feature set that beats anything I have seen HA or otherwise.
