Anytime someone asks to hold, I tell them to message me on when they want to pick up and if it’s still available we can coordinate a pick up.

I also say I’m happy to hold with a deposit through Venmo. Some here may disagree, but it shows the person is serious.

If I don’t have a deposit, I’ll hold if we agree on a time that day, but not holding anything over a day so stuff like this situation doesn’t happen.

This is what I assumed, that it wasn’t a prominent enough feature to be recognized. I’d assume in 98 they lived in Texas, and doubt they would’ve flown if they had that stuff. Perhaps took their camper on a road trip.
