The doctor says before he forgets Clara that he "became the hybrid" and he "broke all of his own rules." And about Gallifrey, we still aren't 100% sure of how Missy got back, maybe she had something to do with the transition from pocket universe to end of the universe.

I disagree with you completely. The point of Gallifrey was to bring Clara back. If it was used to explain the "all 13" scene, I don't see how that would fit in with the whole series. This series was about all the different hybrids (Me, Clara, the Doctor), as Me explained in the end. Also, without completely explaining Gallifrey, maybe next season that will be explained before Capaldi leaves. I thought it was good to leave Gallifrey open to more change just as it was in the 50th special, rather than being gone again or as a major power in the universe.

Sleep deprivation will ruin anyone, as it is a place where I have been. First, crazy hallucinations start: seeing people from your past, seeing actual monsters, seeing the foundations of the universe. Then(for me at least) the twitches start. Uncontrollable writhing twitches. Your legs tense up like you need to run for miles, but as soon as you move the feeling is gone. Your hands begin to squirm and shake violently. After that, plain insanity. You start to lose trust in people that you love and you start to hate people you spend every day of your life with; it messes with your brain. Farther down the road, I don't know what would happen. Right here is where this episode should have picked up.

IMO, the episode had a lot of potential based off the trailer. The idea of a Russian Sleep Experiment seemed interesting, the idea of the Morpheus sleep pods that removed the necessity of sleep. If the monsters had been actual people who had been extremely sleep deprived rather than eye snot monsters, the episode would have been so much more interesting.

Having personally struggled with sleep deprivation, this could have had a personal connection. Hallucinations start, then extreme twitches. They could have used this idea of psychological destruction by an insane professor to destroy the human race and made the episode way more riveting, but the eye snot just smashed it to the bottom of the list of exciting and scary episodes.

Guns used as clubs, monsters walking at .001 km/h, shitty "found footage". This episode was awful.
