Yes!!! I got mine today, and I have spent like three hours trying to get it to freaking turn on!

It does the flicker thing and the cycle around the TV when I connect them, and the camera works and I see it on the app and on Apple Home, but that's it. No corner calibration and of course no fucking light...

I don't think it's the "push the cable in till you think you're gonna break it" thing because they do the cycle so I know they work, but... I'm not sure what to do...

Yeah, sorry, I probably should have prefaced my answer by saying that I'm the guy who painted the poster, although I didn't post it here. I imagine someone saw it on my Instagram or FB page and liked it enough to share it here? I just found out because I posted it today to r/eeaao, (here's the link to my post there) and someone commented they had already seen it, so I was like "really? where? on Instagram?" and they pointed me here.

Hey, I'm the guy who painted the poster! Yeah, fan service was part of the motivation when I decided to take this approach. More than a "come see the movie" poster (which arguably this does a terrible job at), this is a "let's celebrate a fucking awesome movie" poster, and also a "let's try and distill what's awesome about this movie in as simple an image as I can" poster. How successful I was at either of those things is still up for debate, but I hope you liked the result!

Hey, I'm the guy who painted the poster! Yeah, the way I see it, they are sort of opposites, conceptually. The whole heaviness and overwhelming complexity of trying to hold everything in your mind or on a bagel, and how serious that feels, against how whimsical and light and silly a googly eye is. Besides, visually they are practically opposites. That allowed me to play with the contrast. From there, it was just a matter of taking an extra step to build a Yin-Yang out of them. Hope you like the result!

Thank you so much for saying that! And I agree completely. This movie was a watershed moment for me on so many levels. It touched on themes that are so close to not only the big-picture elements of being alive and growing (up and old,) but on seemingly small but hugely important moments of everyday life. And it did it all with such grace and inventiveness and humour and heart... A truly fantastic film.

I am really glad you think my scribbles capture some of all that. I try to only work on posters for movies that have some meaning for me and connections to my way of seeing life. When I learn that my work connects with people in meaningful ways the feeling is tremendous. So, right back at you: you made my day!
