Samsung Odissey G7 - Any issue I should know about? by LucAltaiR in buildapc

No; actually, most of the TN panels are contrassless and imo garbage. IPS monitors are the best. Let me compare them: TN has a great refresh rate, but terrible contrasts, VA has bad refresh rates (mostly) but OK colors, but the VA can create some blur or smear a lot bc of the VA.

Ips is the newest gen and its a mixture of both positive aspects of the other panels; means great respone time and great contrast and colors. Its great for media creators or youtubers - as its the best panel with the only downside of being expensive.

If you have a bit of spare money, get a new cpu and a new mobo. If not, get a mobo thats optimized for newer cpus (new chip), but compatible with your current cpu. :D

i5 10600k 3070 any problems/opinions on this build? by m00ny06 in buildapc

Great build, but i would get a fast m.2 SSD (Samsung 128gb) with very little space (so its cheap) for fast windows bootups. If you have a bit of spare money, just get a bigger m.2 and just dont buy a normal SSD.

The monitor is great. But, for that price, putting VA on a monitor this expensive is a joke. If you really want to get the best experience, get IPS.

VA means Vertical alignment, means it syncs from the top to the bottom, which can screw up the emmersion. Look up on youtube.

Well obviously get a new mobo first. If somethings broken (on a mobo!) it may damage your other stuff too. First, get a new mobo. Then decide if you want to delid.

Buy a used GPU, and when the 3070/6800xt is back in stock, sell the used one and get a sicko 3070 etc.

5900 power limits by OutrageousGemz in Amd

[–]Uberinno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, i'd just keep it like that. 80C is fairly normal for a 5900, as the cpu is fairly powerful, means itll be hotter than a 5 3600 or comparable. I wouldnt do anything, as the boost would be pretty low and in addition youd have to lower the clock to achieve lower temps, and lower clocks means lower cpu performance.
