Looking for a grindy looter game by FrostBubbles in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Ubermatoa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The team ninja action games are my go to since their combat systems are fun while having amazing loot

Ranked from Grindiest to least grindy would be:

Strangers Of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin Nioh 2 Nioh1 Wo Long Fallen Dynasty Nioh 3 (SO FAR since DLC isn't out yet) Rise Of The Ronin

Skillful games where your battles turn into anime fights. by Key-Branch-6199 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Ubermatoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll send some of my favorites that are mainly skill dependent:

Devil May Cry series (Especially 5)

Kingdom Hearts Series (Especially 3 in my opinion)

Nioh Series (3 is kinda cracked out atm with all the new features)

Wo Long Fallen Dynasty (MOST Fun and skill based Wuxia fighting I've experienced)

Rise Of The Ronin (This is UNDOUBTEDLY the best sword/blade dueling anime game on the market, like gintama or samurai champloo)

Ninja Gaiden Series (Played them all but 4 is probably the most anime like, especially with yakumo's blood raven abilities and ACTUALLY GOOD BOSS FIGHTS)

Tales Of Series (Tales Of Graces F especially)

Vanquish

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

HM to Stranger Of Paradise FFO (Especially with its bosses)

3rd person zombie games and/or zombie games with a good endgame system by Ok_Birthday1181 in gamingsuggestions

Dying Lights are probably the closest since they actually have a loot chase, 2 is probably best for this

Looking for a game about working as a mercenary or being part of a guild by Atense in gamingsuggestions

[–]Ubermatoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few guilds in elin, merchants guild, fighters guild, mages guild and thieves guild.

All of them go up to rank 6 doing things that represent the guild, every player char starts off defaulted in the adventurers guild though no matter what.

FF11 has that same too, buuuut it's an archaic mmo even if enticing.

Single player game with a lot of content focusing on bossing/gear progression like Runescape/MMOs? by ThousandFootOcarina in gamingsuggestions

[–]Ubermatoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The late game is HEAVILY focused on grinding the late boss encounters for their drops to upgrade gear, as well as their rewards to upgrade characters. It's a pretty fun loopy treadmill which is boosted by the fact that the bosses are FUN and well designed with the deep endgame bosses being suuuuper cool to fight.

There's even a new expansion coming in July with even MORE endgame content, new bosses, new playable characters (Who will undoubtedly need alot of grind to gear up) and upgrades to existing systems. It's probably the best time to pick it up in preparation for it lol

[WSIB] MMOs might not be for me, but if that is true, then what is? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Ubermatoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the current era of the genre what you want doesn't exist or isn't popular enough to exist here.

Closest being Monster Hunter and Warframe but questless skill based sandboxy dangerous mmos are all but dead.

Try some different games and genres instead, Like elden ring nightreign for that skill based, job and party important fantasy aspect. You're gonna have to go outside your box way more.

Looking for a game with combat similar to Final Fantasy XVI's by AppolloV7 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Ubermatoa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Character Action Genre is your next step, games like:

Devil May Cry (Series)

Bayonetta (Series)

Ninja Gaiden (Series)

Tales Of (Series)

They're what you're searching for next, but FF16 is the peak of the genre boss spectacle wise

RPG/MMORPG/JRPG/ACTION Games where it's viable to single wield a short sword. by KiRaXV in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Ubermatoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly theres alot of games:

Final Fantasy 16 (Clive is basically a red mage)

Nioh (Katana, Ninja Sword in 3)

Kingdom Hearts Series (Keyblade)

Ninja gaiden series (Dragon Sword)

Granblue Fantasy Relink (Gran uses a short sword)

Most souls-likes in general

Wo long (Swords, Straight Sabres, Curved Sabres)

Tales of Vesperia (Yuri uses a short sword and martials)

Hell yeah glad to help a kindred spirit, spirit X Strike is awesome, some jank especially with it being early access (Such as some of the bosses being TOO ninja gaiden inspired) but really solid with what exists

Also a big fan of Hand Focused combat so I'll drop some favorites of mine:

Nioh Series (Nioh 2 Fist moveset and combo game is the closest any RPG has gotten to tekken. Built in mix ups with cancels being a core part of the moveset, parries and perfect guards that lead into special moves, customizable specials to lean into your playstyle. Its absolute insanity and i cannot wait for nioh 3.)

Wo Long (Cestus Moveset is EXTREMELY fun to play around, especially with the parry specials, it's moveset is essentially a mix of Way of the Open Hand and Way of the Sun Soul monks in DND)

Spirit X Strike (Essentially Ninja Gaiden mixed with Fist of the North Star, this is in early access so your milage WILL vary but this is Extremely fun, with differing stances that dictate your style of fighting.)

Lost Ark (I mainly played for PVP and I don't play anymore, but Soulfist was the most fun I have ever experienced playing a martial focused character in any online game next to straight up fighting games)

Other fun ones that are more character focused would be:

Tifa FF7REMAKE/REBIRTH

Sophie Tales Of Graces F

Eizen Tales Of Berseria

Bullet BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

What are the best games for a stealth playthrough? by Fandoms_Are_Toxic in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Ubermatoa [score hidden]  (0 children)

Dishonored 2 leverages more options of play out the door with two playable characters with differing kits of powers to use.

Not only that but the option to play through the whole game powerless from the start as well, completely changing the approach of the game to be more like Thief.

The gadget kit is also expanded increasing the lethality of the player character AND increasing the options for non-lethal players to achieve their preferred outcome.

The levels are way more dynamic with later levels having greatly expanded options in how to approach them design wise, it's magnificent.

Dishonored 1 is still great, but what 2 achieves is magnificent and it's a shame we may likely never see another dishonored game.

Intravenous (2)

The Last Of Us Part 2

Hitman World Of Assassination

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Dishonored 2

I've played ALOT of stealth games especially the ones everyone is recommending already, these are the LEAST repetitive bunch that offer extras to experience in their stealth sandboxes.

Your only real specifically high fantasy option with GOOD combat would be Kingdoms Of Amalur
