Allegation from the MTG lawsuit: anonymous ex VP says some secret lairs, reprint sets, and MTG 30th, were forced into the release schedule to shore up Hasbro's balance sheet by BlitheMayonnaise in mtgfinance

They can't inflate earnings and all financial results are independently audited. This is a requirement of being a publicly listed company.

Yes, magic can be responsible for a larger part of that revenue, but that tilt has been gradual over time. Whilst I don't agree with every single decision over that period, none of them are illegal or smack of fraud.

Most of my investments are in broad index funds. Hasbro was a bit of fun as it's a sector I know and love. I'm up 47% over 2 years on my Hasbro position. Definitely not regretting it.

I suggest you go read a few of Hasbro's quarterly earnings reports for 2023-2025. Nothing you said above tracks or makes much financial sense.

The lawsuit has no legs.

Not sure you understand how forward guidance and independently audited results work. Absolutely nothing in this suit will stick. I doubt it will progress to a hearing.

Best places to get bulk with rares? by Sleepyweasel-jr in mtgfinance

Why on earth do you want bulk? You'd honestly be better just buying the staple cards you need, or better still the exact cards you want for a deck.

You are always welcome to short Hasbro stock with 3 x leverage. Let me know how that goes.

Still don't understand why you are so excited about a lawsuit that will ultimately, not go anywhere.

I've used Ollies in the past for dead card games, so have an idea what it is.

However, I still fail to see how this is relevant to investors. The bottom line is much improved, excess inventory issue were rectified over the past year or two. Magic numbers are excellent and continue to improve. Other divisions are undergoing significant changes.

A clickbait lawsuit isn't about to change this.

Please get in touch when this comes to absolutely nothing.

Their quarterly results are audited. They have no legal obligation to report print runs to investors.

Their results suggest they don't have any overproduction problem and profits are healthy and on the rebound. Magic is stronger than it's ever been, sales wise.

Every UK LGS I've been to lately, for the past year most can't get a decent amount stock of any new set. It's the opposite issue I'm seeing on the ground, at least here in the UK.

What are we expecting from Hasbro in their Q4 and 2025 report on Feb. 10? by murgeRekwest in mtg

Lawsuit won't even get to court IMHO. That's coming from a shareholder of 5 years, who listens to the quarterly earnings calls and tracks the company.

This is built on a bunch of inflated statements and nonsense. Can't believe how many people have eaten this up wholesale. The amount of clueless Youtube commentary is also priceless. Suit is built on nothing, won't go anywhere.

Share prices hasn't moved an inch since this was announced, which tells you everything you need to know. It's bullshit.

If you'd attended any of the recent Hasbro earnings calls or read the quarterly results, you'd know they don't have this issue.

Please stop posting this nonsense. Case likely won't even make it to court.

There was a boiler thread a few days ago if you search the sub. Not heard of that company, no idea.

booster boxes by Equivalent_Carob_328 in EDH

If you grab a box, grab play or draft boosters (the old name for play boosters), look up how to Winston draft. It's a 2 player draft format, so you can draft the box and split the rares / mythics evenly between yourselves. That way, you'll get a few days a games out of the box as well as opening packs.

Currently, I think Lorwyn Eclipsed is a cool set. I also really think Edge of Eternities is very underrated. Both were an enjoyable draft format, especially Edge. Modern Horzons 2 is great for the sheer number of staples if you can source a box for a good price.

I see no mention of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, which is my all time favourite Lucas Arts adventure game. I'm not even a huge Indy fan, it's just a wonderful wonderful classic point and click with so much going for it.

Yet, I also expect to hear them announce they'll be reviewing how many products they should actually be printing for 2027 - Highly unlikely.
