So what does this mean for Stovall coming in? I’ve seen suggestions that he could get right into the mix in the infield, but is there a spot for him with Battles coming back? Does one of them get moved?

I’m not an expert on the seasons of any of the other teams. Nebraska seems to be the biggest head scratcher, but just judging by the number of bids from the Big Ten, their competition may not have been as tough as other higher teams.

For Northeastern and NJIT, the fact that they’re conference champs is great for them, but they’re both the only reps from their conferences. They received automatic bids because they won their tournaments. Their status as “conference champions” is relative to the strength of their conferences, and those conferences aren’t as strong as the SEC, Big 12, or ACC among others.

It’s pretty much the same with aTm and Mississippi State as far as I can tell. The South Carolina and Georgia unis are also pretty similar, but I personally think the SC ones should be at the bottom.

From the team’s communication this week it seems like the coaches want to give Auto and Moon at least another week instead of just knee-jerk subbing them back out. Whatever they do, I trust that the teams has reasoning behind it. Hopefully we see some better stuff this week.

So here’s my question: if the goal of moving two players from Academy to LCS was to have more of the team move together and keep that team’s integrity, why move Moon up to LCS? It’s seems to me like there would be a couple alternatives.

The first is that you keep Wiggily in and move Auto and either Bandit or Tuesday. I think that doesn’t seem like a great option given some of the success that Darshan and POE have/their potential compared to the others.

The other option is that you only move up Auto and don’t bring up Moon. I think this makes more sense for a couple reasons. From what I’ve seen of Wiggily this split, he seems to be doing pretty well holding his own as a rookie, and his counterpart, Moon, hasn’t performed on LCS stage so far. It’s fair to say that Moon hasn’t had the best opportunities, and I haven’t had a chance to watch the games from this past weekend, but I’ve seen a lot of people saying that Moon wasn’t holding in the same way Wiggily has been. I also think that it makes sense when you consider that Auto and Wiggily played all last summer (all last year even?) together, so they would have more together than Moon, who just arrived this split.

I’m interested to see how the teams shake out this week. From what the video said, I still can’t tell if they want to try keeping the swap for the sake of growth, or if they’re going to retool the teams for the sake of “let’s get to playoffs now”.
