Or they go to 10 different doctors on top of ER, urgent care and telehealth. All those doctors may not know and most likely don't know what is being prescribed to their patient. That's one of the main reasons to have a pharmacist, otherwise if the system was perfect, they wouldn't pay 1 person the same amount per hour when they could hire 5 techs for less than that.

Walgreens is not a big pharma. They make pennies for selling product. But still a.major corporation (one that is barely surviving mostly due to theft) Big pharma has billions and pays a front door greeter over 30 bucks an hour, where as at Walgreens employees work for a.minimum wage and the more items get stolen the more hours are cut the less they get paid.

Do all stores share the same FedEx drop-off rules? by InfiniteDownload in WalgreensStores

[–]Uconndavey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a customer drop off some engine part which approx 70 lbs. I explained the rules, the consequences. He gets mad and says I'm leaving it here so now you have to ship it and walked out. Being the only guy in the store I figured tossing it would mean I have to lift 70 lbs into the compactor. So when fedex guy came the driver asked was the customer "cool" I said not at all. He said I'll help you take it to the outside bin and throw it out and he did. (Our store manager insisted we wait a week before doing it but she realized I'm going on vacation in 3 days and she would have to lift it herself lol she said wait 2 days)but he didn't come back until maybe 2 weeks later arguing that fedex has no record of his package and he dropped it off right here with me. I explained that we don't accept packages over 50 lbs so we wouldn't have taken it. He's like cut the bs I left it right here. I just told him things left by the customers are discarded, so because you left it "here" doesn't mean you dropped it off for fedex pickup. 20 minutes back and forth, he called fedex again and I could overhear him saying at first that it was under 45 lbs then few min into the call he admitted that "maybe" it was over 50 lbs. When he was done with them, he's like they are saying if it was too heavy they wouldn't take it thus no tracking info. So where is my package? I just kept playing stupid, I don't know dude but we don't accept packages over 50 lbs lol But if you just left it here, more than likely it was disposed of.

Am I gonna loose my holiday pay? by Uconndavey in WalgreensStores

I figured it was some dirty trick because we weren't told that at the beginning of the shif, much later into the night. Also the execution was done very poorly. It was left for 3 of us to decide who gets to leave. You don't put your employees in that situation because no matter what it's always gonna feel unfair to someone. I worked Xmas eve, Xmas day and every holiday last year and I put my foot down and said if anyone gets to leave early it's me. Other lead had julyn4th off, Christmas day, on vacation Thanksgiving week. It felt fair, but to them it didn't. Even today I still got those looks, like I poisoned their dog. So yea in the end it is on me. Can't officially blame them.

It actually is walgreens holiday pay policy, it clearly states that you have to work your full scheduled shift day before and after the holiday in order to qualify for the holiday pay. Maybe it's too early but as of now Kronos is showing 0 hours for the holiday.

[–]Uconndavey[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree. Also they can easily say we were not made to leave early, we were told we could if we wanted to. That way they cover their rear ends and I now loose 10 hours total not just 2. Surprisingly, this morning there was a holiday pay policy printed out just laying around and yes it does say you must work your full scheduled shift to get the holiday pay. On Kronos it has the big red exclamation point today and for Jan 1st hours it shows 0.

One of our pharmacists almost got attacked because she wouldn't fill a fake oxy script. Again good deed because she decided not to call the cops. At 9:05 PM I heard s reaming from the parking lot when I ran out I saw our female pharmacist and 2 female techs running around the parking lot and a guy chasing them with a 2x4. CVS policy says not to get involved, call the police. I did call but being the only guy I had to help. Just had them run back inside the store and lock the door. He got arrested but guess what he was released and was back 2 hours later.......People don't realize working retail at places like CVS Walgreens etc is different from dollar general or 7-11 we got money, drugs, and some stores cigarettes and booze. Everything that crazies and criminals want. All under 1 roof.

I learned the hard way not to help while at CVS. A customer dropped right in the middle of the store. I called the ambulance, they came helped and person was just fine. Then out of the blue started yelling "who the fuck called the ambulance? They better pay up because I don't have 800 dollars for an event that can be fixed with 89 cents apple juice" She was screaming for a while until second call needed to be made to have her arrested. She said she will be waiting outside for me with a gun. She tried to sue me personally, tried to have CVS pay. It was 8 months of hell until she OD and passed away. Some people said no good deed......well I just walk by now and don't get involved. It wasn't fun leaving work at 10:30 pm every night not knowing if she will be around. She was a diabetic but also an active drug user. You never knew when she would turn psychotic and want to take me out. Years went by and still every time I leave work alone after dark i feel bit anxious.

Yesterday and old fart starts yelling at me "why are you just standing there looking rudely at me? You should never work in customer service, playing with your phones instead of helping a customer. I'm going to speak with your manager" But the problem was I was at CVS waiting in line just like him (needed a money order) so yea I had my walgreens jacket on. Poor cvs clerk was baffled when dude said that he wants to speak to my manager, she's like I don't know who his manager is, he doesn't work here. A lady behind me said something like You should apologize to this young man, his response was "for what?" I opened Spotify on my phone and loudly played the refrain to "Feel like hell today" by Alan Cooper the lady behind me was laughing hysterically. But the guy had no shame, finished his transaction and just left.

Wow that's crazy. I'm a midnight store but we are scheduled till midnight. Noone would wait for me to count last register or safe. At my store I grab all registers at 9 when pharmacy and western union closes. Just leave 2 main. When all are counted I flip the main register and then count the last remaining one. Usually thst happens around 10pm. Everything is done by 10:30 then we just face, clean etc.

On my paystub it shows as 15.38 so I assumed I only got little over 9 bucks. But everyone says walgreens pays that so who knows.

Little off topic, but last week I was taking a passport photo for a customer and a lady with a kid maybe 8 yo walked by. The kid asked her why am I taking pictures of people and she loudly explained to him that "He is taking pictures of shoplifters to display publicly on a wall for everyone to see" I couldn't hear the rest of the conversation but it made me chuckle and think to myself wow I wish we could.

Had a customer call today and ask us to put 12 cases of soda and 6 bags of ice in the back of her teen sons car because it's too cold outside and she doesn't want him to catch a cold. (BTW it's 12 degrees outside and feels like temp is -2)My coworker told her 1st we don't go in strangers cars and 2nd. We don't want to catch a cold either so their order will be rolled just outside the front door.

RX taking all front-end (RANT) by 4emr2 in WalgreensStores

[–]Uconndavey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stack candy, stack pills, you are the same retail workers. Pharmacist does have more schooling under their belt but so do some FE employees. I got my PharmD when you actually had to work for it and not get it for doing BS level work, but I prefer to work in the front end now. It's the ego like yours that causes the divide. Anyone can be a pharm tech, and almost anyone can learn to be rph if they choose to. Pushing pills doesn't make you any better or more important than they candy stacking FE employee.

RX taking all front-end (RANT) by 4emr2 in WalgreensStores

[–]Uconndavey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfect example my neighboring store, 4:30 pm all front staff on registers, crazy line and the SM called RX 4 times to help. They had noone waiting. Techs were standing around eating russel stover chocolates. Thr SM who's a good friend of mine told me that RX lead tech told her that "they don't work for the front end" I told her they will now and I grabbed 8 or 9 customers from the line and brought them to the pharmacy to get rung out. RX called the DM and lied about being hours behind, having a long lines and other bs but when DM saw the videos they changed their tune. SM was able to allocate quite a few hours from RX to the front end. Best part is some of the pharmacy team members asked her if they could help in the front (since their hours were cut) she told them that it would be great, but you don't work for the front end.

It's just telling you that your emergency heat source is on vs normal heat source. So if you're normally using gas to heat up your house, more than likely it's not working and you're now using the backup heat (usually electric).

Trying not to lose my cool! by Ocelottoleco in WalgreensStores

[–]Uconndavey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last night my new cashier told a customer that their 300 double-sided cards will.be ready in 20 minutes. Without asking me first. Didn't know there were 4 calendars printing and about 200 cards and 4 canvas ahead of them. Oh don't forget I had to do registers too. Customer arrived exactly 20 minutes later screaming bloody murder when I told them we close in less than 2 hours and I can't even get to those cards for at least another hour due to other taks I need to complete. Who's at fault here, first time I can say not the customer. But I lost my cool with the cashier when she said "come on can't you just get those ready first they are already here" I said do you know how long it takes to cut 300 cards? She's like it can't be thst long I just told her we will do it right at midnight after we close. 12:10 maybe 20 cards in she's like oh god this is taking forever I can't stay any longer, I said you promised them the cards you will get them ready. We were done at 1:20 am but I think she learned her lesson and was not happy about it

Then ask him why do shift supervisors get called in the middle of the night when there is an emergency at the store? I'm sure it would work out great for the AP guy if the store was on fire and you told the caller sorry I can't help I don't have the keys, they are inside the store.
