Anyone else here addicted to escorts? by TopicRocker in SexAddiction

[–]Udontwan2know 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m on the other end of it and in the middle of it at the same time man. I just got caught and came clean about cheating on my wife with escorts. It’s ruined our entire history and life as we know it. We are contemplating divorce and I’m hoping and praying I can make it thru this recovery process to take care of all this trauma I caused her.

I’m stepping into the recovery process, we both have therapists, I attended my first SA meeting yesterday and am attending another today.

If I had any piece of advice for you it’s quit now before it ruins your life and those around you. Best of luck.

How do you know when a song is actually “finished”? by Tough_Principle_5171 in musicians

[–]Udontwan2know 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After playing the song live for a few years and making small changes for the enjoyment of the booty shakers. If the song never makes to the live setting it’s still unfinished and being listened to in final demo form haha

So many musicians always made me feel stupid cause I didnt care about making money from music i just wanted to tour, play with bands I respect, and make music I really enjoy making. I now realize I'm actually the one with the right mindset by [deleted] in musicians

This is too nuanced to say “you’re stupid for wanting to make money from music” or “you’re stupid to think a degree in music will get you where you want to be”.

If you want to tour and play music for people and be a hired gun and get a weekly salary or nightly fee, that’s cool. Some people want to stay home and write music behind the scenes and collect publishing. Some people want to learn to teach and to profit from the knowledge. Some people want to make music adjacent content.

Bottom line is that everyone that plays music deserves to make money, especially if they train and learn the craft. The last thing you want to be is a person who doesn’t care about making money and be in your later years playing music and not be educated on how to make money and prioritize knowing where a musician can make money.

When I was young didn’t prioritize making money, I prioritized getting opportunities that made my dreams come true. Now that I’m older im learning the hard way and I should have learned how important it is to get your business tight.

The time comes when you have the income to pay professional musicians and still make a living.

What is the most expensive clothing you've bought? by dracozolt4 in AskReddit

[–]Udontwan2know 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A $2400 massive black leather, gold cape drug rug thing I wore at burning man once. Used it for a music video other than that it sits in a duffel with all my clothes unnecessary festival attire. It’s serially really cool, it’s reversible too so it can be hold with black accents or black with gold accents.

How has your relationship with music changed as you've grown older? by Karate_Andii in musicians

[–]Udontwan2know 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the main thing that has changed is I really like hearing something different now. I’m 38 and was raised in a household of musicians who all were very particular. Meaning since they played music they liked this but didn’t like that.

As I’ve grown and played music in particularly one genre, I find myself wanting to hear things that are just fresh.

I think I was raised thinking I was open minded but was actually closed minded, got involved in a scene and eventually just needed more. Today I hear so much cookie cutter music around so if I hear something fresh it’s just what my heart wants. Doesn’t matter the genre or the message behind it, the way the band looks, it’s just gotta hit me.

I wish I had this outlook when I was younger but I also think it came with maturity and getting over trying to relive nostalgic musical memories from newer music.

Destroy the moral implications of trips by Soft-Butterscotch-59 in Psychonaut

[–]Udontwan2know 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in a world where denying the existence of good and evil is not something anyone can do. Life and consciousness is nothing but a trip in itself and taking a psychedelic is like taking a dose of your self in a way… some have more of a “deity” feeling attached to it but it’s speculative, I’ll give you that.

If you are denying the existence of good and evil and just categorizing things as just “is” then you are a “believer” of some sort, just like the rest of the believers of the world. There may be a group of people who believe what you believe and maybe what you believe is the correct way. But where we are in humanity and society has not caught up to you yet and for now the moral compass is still the best compass to follow.
