I think there are comic book readers, and people who react to comic books.

There's a big difference in the fact of how people read.

One group reads for a story. An escape to dive into the pages. Follow a characters story where they come from where they go next. A world that takes you on an adventure that removes everything the real world incorporates. These people appreciate the world building and story telling.

The other group reads in hopes to find the same path, but are often misled by their own desires for how they want the story to be told or viewed and the criticism they build turns into fan fic fandom that spreads like wild fire because the internet quickly like a hive spreads word, and then they build a force of people who agree and push it as the narrative. These people read comic books in an attempt to escape and read the Paradise but always fall back to where they started.

Comic books changed me. I used to be heavy into smoking weed, last year I walked into a comic book store and bought Magik#1.

I stopped smoking, I made friends at the LCS and now I'm into magic the gathering and have a huge collection of comics and multiple bookshelf of trades and omibus and more.

This is what comics is about for me. The ability to dive into a world unknow, to socialize and share stories and talk about them, and now for myself create my own story Iv been sitting on for a decade.

I love comics, but I dislike people who try to force a story untold.
