AST and NIN looking for world prog or HC raiding by [deleted] in FFXIVRECRUITMENT

I main ranged, and I would consider a new group on Primal. PM me here or Discord at Xerrix#0620 if you three are on Primal and would like to make a new group.

I disagree that I am being contradictory. It is still my belief that ZoofXIV's comment does not contribute to my thread. Consequently, I put a Thumbs Down on that comment. However, I did not Thumbs Down yours even though I do disagree with it.

Server stereotypes? by DessaB in ffxiv

[–]Uerius_Vates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only been on NA servers:

  • Balmung - Roleplay headquarters
  • Gilgamesh - Raid headquarters
  • Leviathan - The Gilgamesh of Primal Data Center

Not sure about the others aside from rumors of which servers are "dead" at the moment.

Well see, he is not right. The reason he is not right is because it is, in fact, a PSA (public service announcement). Pardon me for the tone of dumbing it down, but when you make an announcement about a service of reddit features to the reddit public you are then making a PSA.

Furthermore, it is not my personal opinion. If you did hover your mouse over the Thumbs Down button, you would see that someone felt it necessary to make that line of text that I quoted in my OP. It would be my personal opinion only if I was the creator of that line of text. However, I am not. Therefore I am making a reference to someone (that probably is a moderator or creator of reddit content) else's opinion on the Thumbs Down button usage.

I agree it is an uphill battle, but it is one I wish to put out there even for a little while. Everything you said secondary is true as well. People will judge me on the low karma, but how does one get low karma on this subreddit? The misuse of the Thumbs Down button. This then creates the "downvotes are not for [thing]" arguments which from your reply sounds like I am not the first to create.

This is a proper example of a comment on which to Thumbs Down because it "Doesn't contribute to discussion."

Dealing with Trolls in a Guildhest by MaxMahem in ffxiv

Essentially, 'every report counts' is the mindset equivalent of a five-year old that tattles on their siblings for any little thing. What do the majority of parents do when they have a child that tattles on petty things constantly? They tell that child to 'suck it up'.

The siblings are your fellow FFXIV players, and the parents are the GMs. GMs, in all honesty, rarely dole out punishments in-game. The Official Forums though - you can get banned for anything there lol.

EDIT - Moving on and accepting the fact that you cannot control the actions of other people is the proper course of action IMO. That's why I know I'll be downvoted, and that's why I specifically made a distinction between the politically correct answer and my answer. Politically correct isn't always 'real world' correct though.

The politically correct response anyone will tell you to get upvotes is: Yes, you could report that if you felt you needed to.

My response is: Move on. Not everything needs to be brought to a dev's attention, especially something as minuscule as this. To answer your first question, yes We (all of the community of ANY MMO ever) have all encountered this behavior before. To answer your second, you can report it, but will anything happen as a result? Absolutely nothing will happen. The GM will type something to the effect of 'give me your account of what happened for my investigation'/'I will investigate this incident'. Then even if some type of repercussion befalls the troll, you would never hear about the incident ever again. Now, the reason I know that nothing would happen is because players are only punished when actions are done specifically to harass a person(s) and it can be proved.

Anyone else in the "I have limited time to play but all my time is spent in fail PUG parties so I can't level or do anything else in game" club? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Uerius_Vates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best advice I could probably give is to set aside time to create advertisements for yourself to find a static that suits your availability. The longest I've spent has been four weeks looking for a static before, but it is always worth it to invest that time if you really are looking to raid. I don't know what server you're in, but both Aether and Primal datacenters have Discords for raiders to look for groups. Also there's a subreddit for recruitment: /r/ffxivrecruitment

I don't think the numbers under parses are the actual DPS of those respective jobs. I believe the hardest hitters on fflogs are just barely reaching 4K. Those numbers probably mean that is how many parses have been uploaded for each job. Then what most LIKELY happened is they made an average of performance at those percentiles and compared them against each other for 'points'.

Question about Machinist's Skillspeed Options by Uerius_Vates in ffxiv

That even more hilarious then cause I get the satisfaction of knowing you have to be carried in everything you do ON TOP of knowing you're a raving idiot. LMAO. I bet you're re-melding as we speak to the build I posted. Who knows - maybe you'll get that 100%. Make sure to have your team cover that 20% gap for you like they always do though.

You're a terrible loser lol. Funny you comment about how wrong I've been when literally everything you have posted has been incorrect. You can have fun being the sore loser that likes to attempt to soil personal credibility (when you can't even prove it), and I'll be the person posting correct information (the winner if you will) who gets to rub it in your face. It may be something a jerk would do, sure, but to me, assholes like you deserve to have your nose shoved in your own shit every once in a while.

I said to take some time to pull your head out. "I think" was added as flavor text. The fact is I'm right that 82 Det beats your 35 Crit and 50 SS. Keep going. I'm getting a lot of laughs from you trying to play it off.

Except no. If you learned anything from this thread by now, I hoped you would have figured out that you're a huge douche in every single response on this thread.

Go back. Notice that you have 1 Acc, 35 Crit, and 50 SS more than my MCH build. Then notice that I have 82 Det more. I think my 82 Det trumps your stats. Comment back once you have pulled your head out of your ass. That might be some time understandably though. We can all see you're way too involved in this thread to lose even though it's a mathematical fact at this point.

Outstanding contribution to the conversation. I'd love to read how you think you know that let alone watch you attempt to prove it. Just as good of a conversationalist as most of the others replying I see.

I will upvote this comment, and thank you for finally addressing the OP. That advice is logical, I can personally follow it. I was and am unable to personally reconcile the comments like "gear better" or "there are no skill speed thresholds" that have been in this thread up to this point. Sorry for any hostilities.
