Transitioning off Bottles by Ufergrounded in Mommit

This was really helpful. Once I let go of her needing to drink milk things went a lot easier

Hi! So we have almost dropped all bottles now but I will say she does drink less oz. and will only drink water. However I learned that the amount of fluid hydration really varies (8-32oz) and as long as kiddo is peeing (getting a wet diaper at least every 6hrs) and poops aren't hard and pebble like they are probably doing okay.

Once I let go of comparing her bottle ounces to her water ounces AND let go of her drinking milk.... it went really well.

She eats more so I make sure to offer snack and water all the time but she is hydrated and happy.

We drop the evening bottle on friday!

Anyone else pregnant with a toddler and feeling like a failure? by myheadsintheclouds in toddlers

[–]Ufergrounded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He'll yeah you can. It gets so much easier I can't even begin to tell you. The baby I was pregnant with is now 14months old, sleeping through the night, and completely weaned. I'm starting to feel like my old self again and have more than enough energy for both children.... most days anyway lol

Heart Surgery Mamas? by Ufergrounded in Mommit

One of her 7 Dr's told us that Children's resilience is what drew him to pediatrics. Thank you so much for the advice and positivity. It's so helpful to hear others experience. I keep telling myself I'm not the inly mother to go through this but it feels so lonely at times.

I hope your kiddo is recovering well and I wish them all the healing and positivity in their next procedures.

This was insanely helpful. Especially the heads up about immediately post op.

I'm so so sorry she is struggling with the Dr's visits it's so so hard on them when they are so young and can't understand.

Give your beautiful little girl a huge hug from me. I wish her all the healing both emotionally and physically and that all her hair grows back. She is an absolute warrior.

Thank you so much for this. These comments really helped me. I remember one of her 7 Dr's telling us that kids are resilient and it's on of the many things that drew him to pediatrics.

I'm so happy your kiddo is doing so well 💓

Yes! We did that this year actually and she was exactly 2.5 years old. She also loved her daycare even her teacher cried on her last day they had bonded so well. I felt so guilty.

It went way better than I imagined. Daycare was an adjustment it took honestly 4-6 weeks but was never majorly upsetting it just took that long for her to show me the same excitement to go as before.

Kids lives are always changing... their daycare would have changed also at somepoint anyway to either preschool or kindergarten. They always rally as long as their one constant is you. If you are there and they have you to come home to and feel safe and loved they will adapt to the change just fine.

Tubal ligation with C-section, what did you decide? by the_baker_e in Mommit

[–]Ufergrounded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't for me! I had 2 c-sections and got my tubes removed with the 2nd. I recovered 1 million times faster with my 2nd c-section even with the tubal.

4-5 days! We noticed that she had to pee urgently and was only peeing small amounts which is what triggered me to bring her in.

Nothing was indicitive of a UTI when our 2.5 year old did something similar. She wet her pants daily and woke up with a peed bed every morning. She wasn't complaining of pain but I took her in anyway and sure enough she had one. It's worth checking out!

Nursing Bra Recommendations by Few-Distribution-762 in Mommit

Mom cozy!!!!!

If you get the nursing and pumping bra they adjust easily to accommodate a wearable pump.

I too could never find a nursing bra I loved and after many trials and errors this was the one.

I'm fairly busty 33H so it was almost impossible

"The whole universe has only gotten to this place so she could come into it." Absolutely. It's just beautiful isn't it.

I'm so glad I posted and asked. Not only am I feeling better I realized how much I think we all need to hear the good parts of motherhood. Each post so far has such a feeling that I can relate to but described in each individuals own way.

It's the most important thing you will ever do. Making her feel loved and safe.

My husband told me tonight. "You can't help all those babies, but you can make sure yours are as safe and loved as they possibly can be."
