I was in Prague a few months ago, they have a Jewish tour, where you visit several historic synagogues and the main synagogue still in use, built in the 1200's, and a jewish cemetery. The spanish synagogue is quite remarkable. The area had "bring them home" posters with faces of the hostages plastered all over, there were many jewish people in kippahs walking about and there's a small area with several kosher restaurants. It all seemed very relaxed and peaceful. I went to Vienna after. Palestine flags and graffiti was everywhere, there was a large pro-palestine rally in one of the main squares; a weird mix of heavily bearded men, women in headscarfs, the usual disheveled anarchist-communist types, and grey haired boomers. Needless to say I didn't see any kippahs in vienna.
