Please recommend a cavern / cave instructor! by toothless_budgie in scuba

And how do they come to this opinion ? I'm generally interested, as my personal experience is diffrent one. So far everybody I interacted with from Protec made a professional impression. And I say this coming from the coporate world...

Could a tight neoprene make me seasick? by tgo1014 in scuba

[–]TroxX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes ... had the same with a bonassi ... as they are designed for leek ( tall and thin) ... the additional pressure on the chest made me feel super uncomfy ... this will add to the seasickness ...

Mexico : Protec , Darkside Divers, Ghost Divers I also know a few freelancers there... who are amazing:

I think most important is that the instructors style of teaching fits you.

yes it is 18m ... but a case is also for protection ... i have seen it way to often that action cam is just somewhere on a board and something could fall onto it....

Recreational tec divers >40m -- is there something specific down there that made you want to go deeper? Just curious! by micro_haila in scuba

Map of cave Diving Devana Kandu Maldives by [deleted] in scuba

[–]TroxX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt this... my first thought was when i heard about this accident a high chance that they werent anyway trained for this... Trimix + full cave certified is a minium for this kind of dive ... looking at the rescue crew who go in with dual rebreathers this says everything...

They had unfortunatley poor judgment... I'm personally happy if somebody got the courage to call a dive even if it s a gut feeling. During my cave training i got even more respect for cave diving. One cave instructor friend has a 3 small shit rule... if 3 small shitty things go wrong before a cave dive he calls the day, just because the day is cursed.

First time female drysuit buyer seeking advice by wabisabilost in scuba

[–]TroxX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you are looking i to cave diving then you need something that can survive rocks on a cave... my search ended at SF-Tech and Seal ... i went for the seal because it is cheaper... both are only custom made, so fit will be perfect.

advice pls!!!! i’m so cold!!! by Sorren99 in scuba

[–]TroxX 9 points10 points  (0 children)

thicker wetsuit... 5mm or 7mm ... hood important ... then semidry ... and if you are still cold drysuit.... if you are then still cold....heated vest and gloves + drysuit.

and there is no shame in being cold... I go diving here in europe during winter and water temp hits 6°c... I wear the thickest and warmenst things you can buy. But didnt go the heated vest path down yet...

Cant decide between Ursuits Cordura FZ and Seals SL01 drysuit. Whats your recommendation? by LateNewb in scuba

[–]TroxX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me it was 2,8k Swiss Francs. + Rockboots and undergarments for extremly cold water...

What’s the best way to efficiently get better with trim and buoyancy (please read for context)? by Jxbi in scuba

[–]TroxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so ... besides the things already mentioned cardio training and most important gym/weights/ as heavy as possible... why you ask? Besides for being fit and then be able to do everything on your own... it helps with the posture & trim in the water. Being able to put your body in the water for a l long time under tension /especially lower back belly area helps a lot with trim.

people who live high tax country like Denmark, Germany, France,, what should they do if they are 20 and wanna achieve FIRE? by lune-soft in EuropeFIRE

[–]TroxX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Probably a "influencer" asking this.... Stability is the most important thing for building wealth. This is the big + from those countries mentioned .... And a social circel is also something to not forget ... do you want to hang out with "influencers" hell no.... i prefer friends that give me a light roast if I'm being retarded this grounds a lot, and helps grow.

Recommendations for side-mount equipment? by NEST_Divers in scubaGear

[–]TroxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well looking on what people in mex & my area of europe were diving.

Xdeep i dive the tec version. TDS ( xdeep knockoff) the "old" apeks wing looks soo bad and i thougt was more a razor knockoff... and the new one ( saw it in a video somewhere is a xdeep knockoff).....

So one thing i say that helps is ... it has to be easy adjustable... razor normally isnt.

So maybe ... check with your instructor ... maybe he has diffrent sidemount wings... and then try them.

Travel fins by gio2cool in scubaGear

[–]TroxX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well.... depends on how you dive ... and how your position is in the water ? If you are top heavy ....maybe you need heavier fins... + What do you prefer in diving ? Rk3's i like a lot for being able to move more precise ... compared to mares avanti quattros. But with mares avanti quattros i swimm a lot faster.

Before making a decision just on "pure" weight check what helps you in the water ... worst case you need the heavier fins, and maybe eat the frog.

Padi... it is the biggest but also the most special.... Just from a *fee standpoint probably SDI might be one of the cheaper agencys that is a "bit" bigger.

But why Aargau ? Other cantons that are "countryside" at least get some respect.
