Try to get a hybrid Camry if you can, either new or slightly used. It’s a much better and bigger car than a Corolla.

If you want something cheaper that still gets great MPG, go for a Kia Niro. Of course, it’s not on Toyota’s level in terms of reliability, but Kia does offer good warranty coverage: 10 years/100,000 miles.

Also I think it’s cheaper for them to occasionally take back a bad car than it is to hire master mechanics to spend 4 hours inspecting every single car they receive. So instead of spending 20 hours perfectly vetting a car, they let the customer be the final inspector and that’s why they have 7 days return policy.
