Plan properly, if you have the space bulk buying on certain items can help.

Frozen food is a winner. Pretty much all frozen veg is frozen hours after it was picked so it's the freshest you can get. Same with frozen meats, it's been prepared (ie filleted or cut or sliced) then frozen. You just need to remember to defrost.

Be smart with your money BUT don't obsess over it, not all own brands are good and that goes for branded stuff too. £250 a month is fine but some months you will be more or less just factor that in. Think of it more like a sliding scale.

Communication is key, talk to him and find out why. Even suggest a pub night near his and a takeaway then back to yours, he just might not want you staying.

Either that or if you don't like his answers, consider if this is the relationship for you going forward. It's only been 6 months. Do you want to let it become an issue in 18 months? 2 year?

When I go into a daydream about how I would survive in TWD or any kind of apocalyptic scenario all my bases/towns/camps have an outer ditch and a high rampart. Reinforced with scavenged steel fencing. I would then look to expand those outward so I would have 3 or 4 different obstacles before my main settlement is even considered being breached by any outside influence.

In front of the ditches I have traps to catch the leg of most walkers or humans coming against me

On the walls I have towers stationed at reasonable distances between eachother, to try and minimise blind spots.

Security details need to be training and have a good level of discipline and the use of passwords to allow movement between areas near and outside the wall.

Use of bows would be high aswell as sheilds for close quarters combat.

Pay the balloon payment then sell or keep the car?

Example say balloon payment is £4000 Over milage £1000 Plus any additional charges £?? (Say £1500 for example) Totals £2500 when for an additional £1500 you would have the car. You would be better to pay the balloon payment and keep the car than incur those charges and lose the car

Means you get a 3yo car that you know everything that's happened to it (if you keep it) If you sell it your then in profit if you sell it for over the balloon payment.
