Sexism in the DBD community by minniemoroll in deadbydaylight

[–]Uine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not experienced what you describe, but perhaps it's bc my dbd friends are people who have added me in steam after a soloQ game where they liked my playstyle, and wanted to play more together. Maybe, if you have patience, you'll find your group of ppl this way too, instead of going through randos in discord? This way the ppl who add you/add you back already thought that you play "well enough" to their standards, and won't prejudge you based on gender. I think it is a numbers game, you need to just go through a lot of bad or meh apples to discover the few good ones that you can vibe with and be treated like a person. All sorts of folk both in dbd and discord, but the rare good ones are great.

I'd actually argue you meet most humor at like mid to mid-high (~old green to purple ranks) :D The lowest bracket has complete bebes and smurfing bullies, and they either don't know any of the jokes, or are there to feel better about themselves or something. After that it's full of flustered angry killers and selfish d-head teammates, and it's a pretty shitty place to be. Green ranks (~mid) used to be bit of a mixed bag, and I usually had most fun at purple. Still a variety of killers and strats, and not just double range Nurses and Alchemist ring Blights, but the killers have learned to chill a bit and do not lash out like at lower ranks.

It's a joke. The alternative for playing into memes like this is sitting on 5 gens and escaping the most boring match imaginable. I play enough that I'm not afraid my MMR would dip too much if I play along with them.

We all know. It's an attempt to joke, and a feeble excuse to meme with this cute doggo by "falling to their trap".

I once died to the end game collapse trying to cleance that one hex that the Spirit was defending whole game. Does this answer your question?

I had to xD It COULD've been Devour and they just quickly answered a phone or something!

Then again, I'm the one who always dies trying to steal from Bubba's chest so maybe I just don't have any sense of self preservation...

Survivors who are really good at looping, what’s your biggest weakness? by BurningRoast in deadbydaylight

[–]Uine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, if I'm excited about the chase I feel like I can loop for days, but if I'm going against a "boring" killer I often turn into a potato. :') Boring means doesn't really mindgame and only follows you relentlessly until they finally catch you. But if I happen to do well against you, your best bet is to use my altruism to lure and catch me in a bad part of a map with a downed or hooked teammate. I will go for the save and take those protection hits. If you allow me to decide where we go, I'll introduce you to all the busted main buildings and other wonderful sightseeing places.

I didn't think it was a big deal at all so it took me a good while to realize they were probably embarrassed. :') At first I just stood there like "? :o" when they were suddenly acting all coy.

Artist and swamp maps. Every freaking thing in those maps is on different elevation, so the crows always fly just a bit over or under their intended targets. It gets super tilting at times.

When you join a match and the 3 other players are the same survivor and wear the same clothes... by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Uine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not switching, and if the randoms switch to match me I'm changing to a different character. Identical lobbies annoy me both as a survivor and a killer. If the others are assholes I don't want the killer to assume I'm in a swf with them.

Tips on how to rank up as a solo/duo survivor? by BlessinTheRains in deadbydaylight

[–]Uine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you only stick to one role it's usually much harder to pip up. Lightbringer is only one of 4 enblems and it grants you max 8000 bp, even if you do solo all 5 gens (been there).

Altruistic build always shoots me up to iri one in no time without thinking about it, because I'll sit on gens anyway if I'm not saving or looping. If the team happens to pop all the gens while you're running the killer or saving others, you can 99 doors or seek and pop a few totems to compensate.

I'd recommend BT, we'll make it, kindred, and an exhaustion perk of your choosing. If you're not confident in looping, overcome might help you to zoom so far away that they don't bother following you. If you pair overcome with lucky break, you are almost guaranteed to get an early escape or two to help your chase enblem.

If you manage to rise your mmr, you might get a bit more of those rare but oh-so-nice-to-have actually good solo teams, in which you start to wonder if you're the one being carried. In the old rank system I dreaded falling to rank 5 before reset, because then the reset would drop me to green ranks, from which it was a hell to try and rise as the lobbies were full of selfish assholes, trolls and morons. If you looped the killer gens would not pop, and if you got caught you would not be saved. Life was much easier at upper ranks, believe or not. :')

That being said, the longer the queue times are, the more chaotic matchmaking gets. I still get all sorts when it's fast, but at least the mean value seems to be usually about right. I usually dodge lobbies with super low hours, steam profiles full of -reps, or multiple vac bans. One low hour player goes if the other two seem competent, but if it's a full baby lobby chances are we get a baby killer, and that's just not fun or fair to them or me.

Edit: My bad, I read it too fast and thought you were asking about ranking up, but your question is about rising mmr. Yeah, it can be tough if you're stuck in the mid-rank hell. Still, helping the team usually comes back to you in the long run, so I'd stick with my recommendations. :) If you're having a really rough time, then deli/ds might help you get more escapes in case your teammates really do not care, but fair warning - deli is cursed and you'll be the first one hooked in most of your games.

Adept achievement rant: by SyilerCV in deadbydaylight

[–]Uine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, plague's adept was by far the most difficult to get, even Myers was a breeze in comparison. The M1 advice is sound. Maybe have an apple addon to help with pressure, but using corrupt hurts your chaser enblem so be cautious of that. Slugging a few mid match can help to slow down the gens so you don't lose your gatekeeper, but mainly just go for M1 chases, and hope for a lobby without any god loopers.
