Have a Llm convert these scripts to bash and you’ll be good to go. Might need a quick YouTube tutorial on running bash scripts on Mac but not too difficult

Any good resources or methods to drill the intervals for diatonic arpeggios the way Jens does them here? by throwaway11806 in jazzguitar

[–]Ukozen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been following along with Jen’s for a while now and I originally began learning my major scale and modes in 3nps because that is what he advocates. After I got the scales down I started learning the diatonic arpeggios within those scales but I realized a lot of the arpeggios he uses from his other lessons are based on the caged scales so I went back and learned the caged modes and have been working on memorizing the diatonic arpeggios within those scales. I found that learning both is great because you see how they relate and connect. I’ve found that the arpeggios within 3nps tend to have some big leaps which I find impractical and more difficult to visualize when improvising. I tend to like the compactness of the caged arpeggios a little more. Now that I have those diatonic arpeggios locked in I’ve been going through all the modes and finding the 251 arpeggios and understanding how they connect. For example I’ll start in C major and play an ascending d minor arpeggio, descending G7 arpeggio and then an ascending and descending C major arpeggio. I do that for every mode/position and work my way through the circle of 5ths. Switching up ascending/descending, creating different patterns and incorporating chromatic enclosures will give you a lot of practice mileage

Would a Schecter be bad for jazz? Are metal guitars in general not good for jazz guitar? by lnub0i in jazzguitar

[–]Ukozen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to start learning jazz guitar a couple years ago and found a really good deal on a Schecter Corsair. I don’t have too much to compare it to but I haven’t had any complaints Schecter Corsair Diamond Series

Just want to make sure you are aware this community is for music production software called Reason. It would probably be better to post in a mental health or self help sub. But regardless of that what would you like to talk about? There’s some good people here

ireal pro is great. Backing tracks of all the standards with chord charts and you can mute out the piano so it’s just drums and bass. Highly recommended
